Brighton Belles was raided just before Christmas:

Their web site is still active External Link/Members Only so I'm not sure if it has been shut down. If the owners were indeed involved with human trafficking then I would suport the police action. If not, leave the girls to work as a group in a relatively safe environment rather than being forced to work on the street which is far more hazardous for them.

It hasn't shut down. It's still open as normal. Everyone arrested was released without charge and the police have given them the go-ahead to keep working. Business as usual.

Username is from a pub in the area - no intention to mislead and never hid who I was on here. Apologies if that was the case.

This is just one o a series of raids across Sussex massage parlours, places in Eastbourne , Brighton and Worthing have all been targeted.
Police seeking traffickers but have not found any, no one has been charged and most, if not all have resumed business as normal.

YEs - there have been other raids in the area, but this may form part of a different operation

Belles have had regular visits from the police in the past - they actively co-operate with them in document checks to avoid falling foul of the trafficking laws, the only ones that they have been interested in enforcing in the past.

But Belles and the clientele base is having a bad effect on the area which may mean they have out stayed their welcome. That and they have become too well known for what they do.

The man was emerging from an alley on Waterloo Street - guess where the brothel is?

And a woman walking down that street at 1 am may ( lets not speculate too much ) have just finished a shft at a local employer of some sort.  He offered her money first.  But lets not join up too many dots.

The CCTV may even have been supplied by Belles - after the early robbery they upped their security hugely - smile - you are on candid camera

Belles have moved before and I can recall they moved twice because of neighbour complaints. I heard that if the neighbours makes a complaint then the police will be obliged to take action. The taser may be explained by the robbery which took place when they were in Montpelier Road. As others have said, the police do tend to crack down on other places and hard in some towns like Eastbourne which now has no parlours and also regularly raid places in Worthing and Crawley. Strange why they have decided to pick on Belles though

Interesting thought that if the police took the camera coverage - looks like it comes from one of the neighbouring shops - there will be a lot of punters on that tape who could be questioned as part of the investigation process if identified
