The subsequent 2 way transfer of cash (you gave out bank details as a married punter?)

To give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps I’m being unduly sceptical with a quite different punting philosophy which is strictly transactional, private, and compartmentalised from daily life….but I really just don’t get this!

I live far away but work in London often so it was easy to pop and see her after work.
As stated her bf didn't come and see her when she was in hospital. I think he was quite new on the scene, I didn't pry into any of that. When she first contacted me I did suggest she turn to him for help but apparently it wasn't forthcoming (and she didn't want to reveal to him where her cash was stashed)
Yes I gave her my punting account details. She can't do anything nefarious with them.

I agree it's odd she reached out to me as a relatively new client, but life throws curveballs sometimes. Maybe she just thought I was a nice guy who might help.

What she does with her money is up to her. We agreed a fee for the overnight, I had fun, she said she had fun, I paid her.
The modest loan was repaid. I don't feel used.

well I agree its beginning to look very iffy.   But here's the thing: as a result of his goodwill, JBT has had a valuable  experience which will enable him maybe to recognize more quickly the next time a scammer tries their luck on him.  I'd say thats worth its weight in gold.

Well asking 2 grand for an overnite seems a big rip off, of course JT can say no but it dosent do me any good to see this, i have a issue trusting women anyway haveing a scammer ex wife who i had to  pay an almost 7 figure sum to:(..

Yeah, he made the mistake of entering a lifetime contract instead of paying by the hour  .

I always think back to the old 3 F saying; If it floats, flies or fucks, never own it, just pay by the hour (or use someone else's ).

Thing is though, she hasn't asked him for 2K.

Original booking was a reverse booking and the overnight was a quarter of her usual rate. Now she wants a little under half her usual rate. This one sentence after laughing that "my overnight rate is £2k and yes would you believe people actually pay it", which kinda lifts the curtain a bit too far.
If she's happy to do the same rate as before I'd probably go for it (though the attitude re rates and her knowing £2k is a pisstake has put me off a bit). If she isn't then I'll hold.onto my cash and that's that.

With the girl I had the EAS for I'd have just ponied up the cash without a second thought.

An SPs rates are her rates. We pay them or we don't. I know some try to haggle, but its not for me.

I wouldn't attempt to haggle with this girl if I were the OP, I'd politely decline her offer stating that I appreciate that it is below her normal rate but is still above my budget, and make a throwaway comment about going back to reverse bids. That way she knows that if she puts in a bid it will have to be less than what she has already offered. TBF I wouldn't expect to get a RB price ongoing, I'd imagine most would want to use them to see new clients hoping for repeat visits at std rates.

Depends but from my perusing of AW two grand is not unusual for advertised rates. RBs are very different of course.

Indeed I have not attempted to haggle, just politely declined and said she has her price and I have mine and that's ok. Like I said, I'm trying to take a bit of a break anyway so she's kind of done me a favour.

Fair play to the OP, he's done something that most of us probably wouldn't, but for entirely the right reasons I think. Would I have done the same? I honestly don't know. However, the previous admission of EAS and now this makes think perhaps OP needs to learn to separate punting and "real life" a little better. Which is a different challenge for every individual.

Also, as others have mentioned on the thread, it's great to see that nobody has (or minimal people anyway) just jumped down his throat and slagged him off for his choices 

At the end of the day, us punters only really have this forum (well me, anyway) to talk about things like this and ask advice. It's a safe space for us all.
