This is one we cannot win on. In the winter we need warm rooms as people come in from the cold and are getting naked so tend to want a warm to hot room but then when the action begins it gets too hot
As someone else has said they hate cold rooms.
It is hard to judge the right temperature for a room or how different people prefer it to be so we have to just hope we get it right. At least if it is too hot the heater can be turned off and a cold air blower can be put on. If its too cold by the time the heater warms up enough it will be too late
I personally prefer a cool room but did try that and had complaints it was not warm enough to take their clothes off in
The only time we can get it right is on a very hot day and we have the air con on as then it is appreciated (although one or two will still moan)
Thanks for contributing Dani. It's good to hear a girl's perspective and I'm sure you're right when you say you encounter all types.
What I would say is that I think us men are wired differently to ladies in terms of our heat regulation. I would say that 90% of men I know prefer cooler ideal temperatures than ladies. For me, I am most comfortable in a room around 18C/65F. I prefer cooler in summer, say 16C/60F and can cope with 20C/70F (true temp not heating set temp which may be higher) in winter, but some of the rooms I have encountered recently have been circa 25C/77F+.
Now I realise that not all girls are going to put thermometers in their rooms, but a good rule of thumb they might like to observe is men are probably most comfortable in one layer of clothing less than women and I'm not counting knickers and bra as a layer - more true (thin) layers.
With regards your point about men coming in from the cold and preferring hot rooms, I think the vast majority of us (unless we're kept unreasonably waiting with no amenities nearby), probably step straight out of a car or train to the site and have minimal exposure to the cold. If we do have to walk any great distance then we are already warmed up.
I realise I might be at the cooler end of the preferred temperature scale but hope this helps inform as I really do hate hot stuffy, airless rooms. Thanks.
