Saw tonight's programme on male circumcision.

Spent part of the evening wincing and hidding behind the sofa when they showed the operation being done.

Not really want to get into the rights and wrongs of it, but being one who has not had the op, wondered if there is any improvement in sex for the guys. Anyone out there had the op in later life and can give an honest opinion on whether it makes sex better or worse?

Worth asking the ladies for their opinions on whether they find any difference and if they have a preference?

Well I had the op in later life, because my banjo string was very tight, and having sex was painful. It made for a vast improvement, with a side effect of making my penis less sensitive.

But when you have it first done it takes a while for the sensitivity to decrease

Over what period, weeks, months, years?

I mean, is it due to the operation itself or just simply the ageing process or something else maybe happening?

It just the head being exposed more that decreases sensitivity. I found that to start it was really sensitive and I was constantly getting hard all the time..
After about a month or two it de-sensitises and now it’s just feels normal again, but obviously it means I tend to last longer than I did before

I got cut as an adult as I suffered from phimosis (External Link/Members Only), wasn't pleasant for a few months after the op, but sex is immeasurable better afterwards as it was usually painful before.

Mine was done for tight foreskin  at 50 years of age. I should have gone to the doctors and sorted it out 30 years ago!  Sex is far better and I have far more confidence now. It has not made me last any longer at all though as some say . The only discomfort is until the stitches dissolve as before then whenever you get an erection it is like having a piece of wire tied around the base of your knob.

I once asked a guy what it was like being circumcised.   He shrugged his shoulders and said "It's no skin off my nose."

My circumcision gave me a chance at a normal life.

I was born with a disorder where my eyelids didn’t develop properly in the womb. When they performed my circumcision, they used the foreskin that they removed to give me proper eyelids. My surgery went well but I’m still a little cock-eyed  :D :D :D

Amazing what they can do.

I was born with no ears, but was given a pair by plastic surgeons using pig skin.   They look great and I can hear well, but, occasionally, I get a bit of crackling.

I'll keep mine for now - but a few interesting tips here.

A surgeon retires from his long career as a specialist in circumcision.
Throughout his career, he has saved hundreds of foreskins as mementos and now wishes to turn them into a souvenir.
He takes his specimens to a leathersmith and asks him to make something out of them.
A week later the surgeon returns and the leathersmith presents him with a wallet.
"All those foreskins and you only made me a wallet?" exclaims the surgeon.
The leathersmith replies, "Yes, but if you stroke it, it becomes a briefcase."

I was circumcised from birth. I think its definitely easier to manage in terms of hygiene. In terms of sensitivity, it is probably lower than what it would be had I not being circumcised. I'm not that bothered though, as I would not have liked the look of having an uncircumcised penis.

had it done in early 20s due to very tight foreskin and i guess yes it takes a while to settle things down but overall for me im glad i got it sorted-women dont seem to mind either way

Was circumcised at the age of 20, medical reason, wish it had been done earlier, missed out on a lot of shagging, loads of men have a foreskin problem, but suffer in silence, just get it done. My sources in the sauna, reckon 50% of men have a cock prob.

Saw programme today. Informative and good. Thanks for info.
I have a naturally short foreskin, it stays retracted 100% of the time.
Service provider once asked me if I had been circumcised, I said no, just stay's back all the time.
No issues with it.

Here's an idea, find out for yourself. Book in for the op and do a before and after review of a WG.

Thing is. If you have a medical reason to do it surely things will always be better and improved afterwards? If a bloke suffers terrible pain in his big toe and ends up getting it amputated he'll of course feel far better afterwards won't he? This doesn't mean we should all rush out and get our toes chopped off does it?

I managed to bullshit my GP in sorting it out for me, it wasn`t medically necessary, never looked back since.
As for the programme, never saw it but I disagree with religious  circumcision being carried out by a non medically qualified person.
In my opinion, it should be done in a hospital or clinic by a fully trained professional.

Mine was nhs!  Foreskin wouldn’t roll back and gp sent me to see a specialist and he just said straight away circumcision is the answer. Depends on the surgeon you get as to type of circumcision . Either high or low. Must admit mine did a lovely neat job😂

How would you know?

In truth I guess the sex is still great, I'm assuming you enjoy it as much as any other person.

It's like enjoying vaginal sex so much without ever having anal, you simply won't know what you're missing and don't really care about it.

I don't think there is. It's a common practice for jews and muslims in this country.

However, I would expect that this can only be performed by properly qualified doctors with appropriate licences for surgery. If practitioners don't hold the right licences, then that may be illegal.

Mine was done aged 7, and at the time I never understood why! All I remember was that it was incredibly painful & sensitive for many weeks afterwards. I was told it was medical, assuming tight foreskin. Obviously I don’t remember life with a foreskin and I’m happy with it as it is

So it’s OK to mutilate young boys? Whereas FGM is completely illegal!

I think the thing about hygiene being better without a foreskin is bollocks. Perhaps that may have been the case in the Middle East 2,000yrs ago but not now.

If you shower daily you just make sure you pull your foreskin back and apply a kind soap, then rinse thoroughly and dry off. Infact some doctors recommend just applying a little E45 moisturising cream if you have sensitive skin, the main thing is retracting the foreskin at least once a day and cleaning with plenty of water. The amount of stories from WGs about guys turning up with smegma (nob cheese) under their foreskin beggars belief.

You're either a dirty fucker or you're not, if you're circumcised and you don't wash regularly and apply deodorant you'll still stink and be undesirable to the opposite sex (or indeed anyone standing next to you on a crowded Tube train in the summer) in any case.

Apparently if you're circumcised there's a very slightly lesser risk of harbouring or taking on board some STIs including HIV. But not statistically significant enough to warrant it IMO.

It's not so much about whether you have a foreskin or not, it's much more about the overall cleanliness of the individual.

I do think FGM is worse, I think it can include removing the clitoris which frankly, is crminally brutal.

But I do still see circumcision as mutilation unless for medical reasons or with 'owner's consent'.

Religion.

When religion is involved it's usually done at a young age and the person has no say in the matter. That as has been said before on this thread is just plain wrong and should be illegal.
What I can't get my head round is why any sane adult would choose to be circumcised when it's not actually medically necessary.

It made the sex a whole lot better, non of this premature ejaculation nonsense.
Besides, there are loads of people who have  procedures that aren`t medically necessary, like boob jobs, lip jobs, arse implants, blokes having their cock cut off , not exactly going to die if they don`t have it done are they?

For hundreds, if not thousands of years, humans have been tinkering around with their bodies for non medical reasons, like the Kayan Lahwi women or the Mursi women so it`s no big deal if I want to have some skin removed from the end of my cock.
