Actually. I was right throughout, because I made it clear that I was talking about my opinions and that my opinions could be wrong.
Do you have any evidence for the above claims? How are grants and bursaries (which are as rare as hen's teeth) relevant? Also "side hustle to pay off loans" sounds like desperation to me - what loans are you talking about? Student loans don't have to be paid until long after the students graduate, so a student who is under pressure to pay off a debt is not paying off a student loan and is likely in a desperate position.
Mate do you have any evidence of your claims saying that student WG's may be doing this for desperation reasons???
I am going to give up on this. But unlike you and most likely dobob your past your 35's right? If so well then I am still in my 20s and only left uni lot recent than you. So I been around students around my age range than you. I may not have evidence of my claims but I have experience of what it is like to be a student in today's climate and trust me a lot of things have changed since the last time you left Uni. That if you are lot older than me but please don't come here and say "what evidence do I have" when you presented none and maybe got no experience of how today's students are like.
But back to student loans and grants. I said that as a tongue in cheek comment but depending on the student they can grain money to help them through their studies. And of course, student loans don't have to be paid back until later but that does not mean a student WG can work as an escort and save the escort money to pay off that student loan in the future. Heck, they could save that money for mortgages, bills, etc...... And paying off those things with a side hustle isn't desperation. If we use your logic a guy working on an online business on the side while having an ok job is doing so in desperation?
And I could go on but southcoastpunter can of made my point already.
I think that depends on your definition of "desperate". How many students are really in a "desperate" position as in almost life or death, eat or starve etc. Very few or none. Yes they might have debts to pay off - particularly international students who are "self funded"
And i would agree that "seeking/SA" is the place to be - i have had great fun with a number of students, none of whom i would say was in any way "desperate" but want a "top up" or "finanacial help" but also wanted fun too and be taken to nice restauarnts (as well as great sex.)
Let's be real, the UK is not a third world country. We don't live in a country where WG's are not making enough $$$ is life or death. We live in the modern west where if you hit rock bottom they are a safety bag (welfare) if things don't turn out great. Of course, they are things that need improving in the UK how money is spent but we are nowhere near like third world countries. Now if we were talking about street prostitutes, then I will agree with you dobob and those people need help to get their back on their feet as well as helping them with their drug and mental issues. But we are not. We are talking about most student escorts who are only doing this job mostly to have fun, buy Gucci bags, go to fancy/high-end restaurants, travel to fancy countries and few may pay off their loans or bills or use that money wisely.
And let's not forget they have sex on top of that. But think of the
"poor" student WG's. SMDH.....
