In USA the police are allowed to set up stings then arrest.
 I would not give identify information there.

Punting is a business contract. Unregulated, YMMV and quite literally, a punt. You don't know how it's going to go or really, what to expect.

It's also a contract between equals, one side is not 'better' than the other, one has something to sell, the other wants what they have to sell. A price is agreed, the service delivered.

But it's also a clandestine act, and there are risks for both sides. Again, there is a kind of equality.

That equality is shattered the moment one side decides they want to know personal details about the other. All manner of shit could potentially happen.

So if the WG decides she wants to see ID from a punter, she should state that clearly, and IMO she should also offer her ID, to maintain that balance. Otherwise as far as I'm concerned, she's lost my booking.
