I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has either got this now  or had it in the past.

Please PM me if you would like to discuss.

Yes I had it, not pleasant is it. Try this remedy, boil up a pan of broccoli  ,save the juices they should be a good pint, eat the broccoli, drink half the broccoli juice in the evening, drink the other half in the morning, do this every day for three weeks.

No mate, sorry to hear, didn't even know it existed.

It says on mgs site that it will get better eventually, I'm just curious....how do you know that the broccoli actually did anything? Couldn't it go away on it's own in 3 weeks??
I'm not being rude, just curious as for OP  I genuinely hope you recover asap.

I'm a little doubtful about the broccoli my self.

The surgeon at the hospital has me on a 6 week course of antibiotics and two other pills to be taken at the same time, twice a day.  So that's 5 a day.

All spread out throughout the day. It's quite a job to remember when to take them.

I think I need one of those boxes for old people with the days and times.

Ohhh. Come to think of it. I am an old person.

I have acute chronic prostatitis myself, I had it bad for about six months in 2008. I saw a specialist and the course of antibiotics but I was still suffering. One day my sister sent me link to the broccoli remedy and it worked. So any time I get a flare up I go back on the broccoli,. Even if it doesn't work, it does wonders for your overall health and cruciferous vegetables cleanse your liver and clean out excess estrogen from the body. You ask for advice, so try it or don't ,I really don't care it's you suffering not me

Offline backofthenet

had it a couple of years ago, lasted for a couple of weeks at its peak then slowly subsided, probably through antibiotics.

Was a real ballache.

Thank you Conker for your advice. I only said I was a little doubtful. I wasn't rejecting your advice.

It was kind of you to tell me and I will try it. It certainly wont do any harm.

Hopefully it clears up for you. Also try and get something to soften your poo since the prostate is gland next to the anus and having a stiff shit will aggravate and inflame it

Bacterial prostatitis is a bugger because there is a thing called the blood:prostate barrier which means that most antibiotics just don't get there, and those that do take time to achieve a concentration which will kill the bacteria. So will need long courses of specific antibiotics. My knowledge is mainly about dogs rather than humans, but in dogs it is HORRIBLE- acute prostatitis makes them really ill, can be fatal.

Offline S.X. MacHine

Yeah, had it years ago but it wasn't severe. I was aware of prostatic discomfort after orgasm. It got better on its own.
No big deal though I may have been fortunate in not having an acute case.

this is what has kept me going for about 25 years. I test it sometimes by taking a week off and I know I need it.

The surgeon said that if it didn't work this time, I could do it again for a further 6 weeks.

I think ive probably seen more doctors for my prostate than I have seen working girls.
MRI scans, cystoscopy (without anaesthetic, OUCH), lengthy and powerful doses of antibiotics all no help.

One STI consultant gave me pelvic floor exercises to do, they did help somewhat.
Another prescribed an alpha blocker called Tamsulosin, - relaxes the prostate muscle, this had an immediate beneficial effect within 24 hours, he gave me instructions to drink plenty of water, and told me to take frequent breaks when driving long distances.

In a few weeks, im booked in for a rigid cystoscopy, and what he describes as a "vigorous prostate massage".  :scare: Hope he knows what he's fucking doing. But he is a professor of urology so he should have sussed it by now.

Unfortunately any orgasmic benefit from the prostate massage is going to be lost on me, as I will be under a general anaesthetic at the time. Ill tell you all about it when/(if) I wake up. I think its going to fucking hurt

Fucking technology!
What I meant to say was that I had some (free) vigorous, unanesthetised prostatic manipulation. Great. Came like a train.
Wasn't a consultant, though; rather, a drop dead gorgeous Brazilian hooker...
