Very sad, but the vast majority of the blame must fall on this 'boyfriend'.  She was little more than a child, he was 21, and should have known better. Is that really fair? It doesn't sound like he had much control over her at all. I mean, she was working as a prostitute and it sounds like he didn't approve, but didn't have much say in the matter.

It's not clear what say he had in anything. It sounds like he was pissed and drugged up as well. That said, he equally could have been pimping her; he could have been the one who put the needle in her. We only have his word for it.
Though, now after the DM payout, he's "clean as a whistle". Yeah right.
Sad story but, even more sad, it's not that uncommon.

So the drug addled mong boyfriend was most concerned that she was an escort, not that she was hopelessly addicted to the most destructive kind of narcotics.
Perhaps he should consider that, had she been an escort, but not a drug taker, she would most certainly still be alive.
