Author Topic: How to broach the subject of STD testing  (Read 2083 times)

Offline Gameboy121

There are lots of threads about how to get tested for STD's and how not to catch them. But does anyone here ask WG's directly if they have been tested and/or asks for proof.

If you ask' how do you phrase the question?

Offline xyfek

Why would you ask? :unknown:

We're responsible for our own sexual health and have no business inquiring that of a stranger.
Just use a condom always. And if you're that concerned consider finding another hobby, as punting may not be for you.

Would you be prepared to show the SP proof you've been tested.    :unknown:

I suppose never, but why would you want to be asking, would it be chance, you might be looking for bareback sex, and dont think any escorts would be happy with this

I only asked if you've got gonorrhea chuck!!!!

the number of cocks a WG gets through each day, any STD/sti test becomes obsolete very quickly.

It would be pointless asking a WG if they're clean.  Clean of what?   There is more to STD/I than HIV, Chlamydia and gonorrhoea.  Something like genital herpes is incurable and if a WG does have it, I doubt they will leave the game.

Use a condom and get yourself tested!  If you do catch something, hope it's one that can be fixed with some antibiotics.

Just ask her politely, have you been tested ? Have you any infectious deseases I should know about?

The answer will "most probably" be, yes I have been tested yesterday  and I am as clean as a whistle. I have left my proof at home.

Be prepared for a rude answer  :(

PS let us know how you get on.

I have had WG tell me they have been tested, usually its when I say to them "We will use condoms for everything including oral? I just like to be on the safe side". They normally then agree but tell me they have been regularly tested.

The ones to watch out for are HPV and Herpies. If you use a condom correctly and it stays intact then there is almost no risk of STI's that are spread by fluids. But you can never say 0 risk.

HPV which causes genital warts can be passed on by skin to skin contact. You can become vaccinated against 90+% of HPV strains that cause warts. If you do that and wear a condom, its very unlikely you will get them. It should be noted that most people have the HPV virus already as its common and experts can't say for sure that you can't get it from other skin to skin contact. For instance if you do MMA, wrestling or get massages. Most older people have had it and their body has gained some immunity from it over time. This is why most over 35s are not advised to get the vaccine. I expect most SP's have got HPV and have probably got some immunity to it unless they are very young and new to the game.

Herpies can be passed on from skin to skin contact too. Its most infectious when you can see the lesions, so if you can't see a rash then you're much safer. If you wear a condom it will protect the parts of your penis where the skin is thinnest and the most susceptible to infection. People with Herpies can invisibly shed the disease, however this is only a small amount of the time and when they do this it is less infectious and its much less likely to penetrate the thicker skin around the areas not covered by a condom. So again if you wear a rain coat and make sure the SP does not have a rash your chances of getting it are very low. (Again never 0).

There are other things you can get but they are much rarer.

I have a friend who is a doctor that works in an STI clinic, this info came from him. He does not know I punt and did think it was a little strange that I was so interested in his occupation

I hope this helps some peoples piece of mind. Remember there is a risk even if its a very small one.

Will you be providing proof of yours at the same time? I mean it would only be polite wouldn’t it  :unknown:

You don't.

I do my research and only visit SPs who make it clear that they're regularly tested. I make sure I'm regularly tested too.

That's not accurate. A condom correctly used will provide around 95% protection for the woman but only circa 65% for the man. Neither are considered near zero.

On the other hand the herpes risk is significantly greater for women than men with unprotected sex. Also how often do you as a punter check for and correctly diagnose a rash?

First, don't do that and secondly if she told you she had been tested and is clear, would you believe her? Any WG worth their salt is tested regularly, just avoid the BBs that advertise it.

As others have said, wear and condom and be safe.

Good range of advice. Thanks all. FWIW I wouldn't dream of fucking or receiving BJ, (doing RO...not for me , same reason) without a mac. Never have. What prompted the question was that on my last punt the conversation came up naturally and made me wonder if people had had similar. I appreciate that without paperwork the conversation has little point, but for those who've punted abroad in Germany or Holland would know that paperwork is more visible as SW is legal.

It's legal in this country, as long as the SP isn't underage, coerced or trafficked.   :unknown:

Sex work is not illegal in the UK, unless the person providing the sex is being controlled, coerced, under 18.

The GUM I use told me mostly due to the liability they do not issue certificates or any other paper work, they simply send an 'all OK' SMS text message - this does not list the tests taken. Could be just one, could be a whole range. Quite a few people for example are unlikely to undergo oral testing, bloods, swabs elsewhere will not (as I understand it) detect a range of infections which can be haboured and transmitted from the oral cavity (mouth and throat).

No offence taken. I think that's a fair point, please feel free to remove my post, as the above information is probably more useful.

Everybody is free to post as they see fit, within the rules, and posts don't get removed just because another member thinks a different source of information is better.

I suspect the poster means that sex work is regulated in those countries. Still a weird question to be asking the girl though!

For obvious personal reasons I’d like to be tested after “business” trips. Is the common thinking to be tested one week after sexual activity?

Two to three weeks or ASAP if symptoms.
