So, you've found yourself in Romania and while you remember all the negative reviews you've read on UKP your dick doesn't want to cooperate. As a thanks for all the invaluable help this site has been for me I decided to write this small guide. It applies to big cities but you're probably going to end up in one anwway if you come here on business.
Legal stuffProstitution is illegal in Romania. Realistically, the chances of being caught are almost zero and even if you are, the most you'll get is a fine or a slap on the wrist.
To avoid this, don't go to brothels (who are seedy and shit anyway). Don't pickup WGs on the side of the street and don't let them into your car or go with them to their place. She might be underage or trafficked and in that case you'll be in shit.
PhoneWhile you can use your punting sim if you have a package with roaming, it's easier to buy a local sim that gives you lots of data and minutes for about 5 quid. The best networks are Orange, Vodafone and Telekom. It's also going to help you as some WGs will not answer calls from foreign numbers. Make sure you install Whatsapp as a lot of girls use that as well and it's going to be easier to talk to them this way.
Getting aroundOnly the capital, Bucharest, has a tube. However, most girls work in areas that, while central, are not close to subway stations and buses are shit so take a cab or a uber.
Cabs are really really cheap, like 0.5 quid per km. For Bucharest, for example, a trip from the airport to the centre is going to be around 10 - 15 quid and moving around the city will be around 2 - 5 quid per trip. Carry cash as most don't allow CC payments. Tipping is encouraged. Getting a cab in the street can be trickier as you can be refused or taken advantage of on account of being a stranger and taken on a longer ride.
Cabbies are renowed for being shit but they've been getting better over the years. But if they quite a fixed price, especially if it's in euros, avoid them.
The best option is to install the Clever (
External Link/Members Only) app, that allows you to call a cab from your mobile phone, set destination, see driver reviews, know who the driver was if there's a problem etc. You can also pay via a card but that's going to limit the number of cabs you can take. Another similar option is StarTaxi (
External Link/Members Only).
Another option, if you're in a city that has it, is to use Uber or Taxify (identical to Uber). They can be cheaper in general and slightly more expensive than cabs when there's a surge. I'd try Taxify first as they don't usually have a surge and usually have significant discounts.
Finding a WGOn the street: street prostitution exists and if you're in a small town it might be your only option. I would avoid it unless you like living on the edge or really have a thing for the gipsy look. They're not exactly healthy or good looking, might be trafficked and will either require you having a car or to go to their place which will be a seedy brothel. This is also where you would risk being caught by the police although you would need to be really unlucky. On the plus side they're really cheap.
AT (Anuntul telefonic - The phone ad): External Link/Members Only This is our version of Vivastreet. I would avoid it or, at least, cross reference it with a review site. You have no idea if the pictures are real or if she's any good.
AW: Slim pickings, the number of WGs there is really small and most are camming anyway.
Agency sites: If you google you might come across agency sites. They are not an agency like we have in the UK, they're aggregator sites and you'll notice that each WG has a different phone number so you'll be calling them directly and not a maid. I wouldn't really trust the reviews and photos are a lot of times fake or heavily photoshopped.
Review forums: This is what you need to use.
There are two main ones, and they are a combination of UKP and UKE, in that both punters and WGs have accounts and WGs post regularly. There is only one thread per WG where reviews are posted and the WG usually posts updates on schedule and new pics.
For both forums, even if they have an english section, you'll find more info and WGs on the other sections which are in Romanian, so use Chrome which translates automatically. You don't need an account but I highly recommend you create one since otherwise you won't be able to see the pictures.
The average price is usually 30 quid for 30 minutes and 50 - 60 quid for an hour.
External Link/Members OnlyThis is the biggest forum and it is a bit of a clusterfuck due to lax moderation to make the WGs get paid accounts (which enable them to moderate their thread). This means that the forum is full of idiots arguing in WG threads and it can be a bit difficult to find information as sometimes you can have 4 pages of just people arguing with each other.
They have paid accounts for punters as well but they are not worth it, they offer access to some hidden sections with extra pictures and movies of WGs.
For Bucharest there are three sections:
- Top Escorte (Top WGs) - These are the ones who have had consistent good feedback and use average pricing. Stick to them I would say.
- Escorte Testate (tested WGs, who have at least one review) - Your mileage might vary, I would avoid it unless you want to read lots of pages of translated content to figure out if she's good or not.
- Escorte de Lux (Luxury WGs) - These are priced higher, around 75 - 90 quid. There is no guarantee that they're any good, you'll have to read the reviews to figure out. The good thing is that there's less bickering and fighting in this section.
For other cities you'll have a main section with new and tested WGs and subforums for Top and "De evitat" (WGs to avoid).
External Link/Members OnlyVery similar to the other one, smaller, started as a splinter forum due to the other one pushing paid accounts and ignoring trolls. Threads are much more clean but a lot of punters and WGs don't know about it (or don't use it) so there's less information.
It has the same structure as the other one.
Clubs: a lot of girls work the clubs around the big cities, but you're going to end up spending more money than you would by just booking a girl.
Massage: Massage places are quite shitty and expensive in general and they come and go. Both review sites have massage sections, both with salons and independent masseuses.
To recap:If you're pressed for time, choose one from the top section or one from the luxury section (but make sure you read reviews in this case).
If you can plan, feel free to look on AT / agency websites and cross reference with the review sites using their phone number.
