Author Topic: Cardiff Hotels - My Experiences  (Read 2676 times)

Offline Corus Boy

This post lists my experiences at the Cardiff hotels that I have visited for punting.

Some I may not have visited for some time and so there may have been changes.

I have not named the hotels and I ask Forum members not to name them if you happen to identify them.

Without the hotel name the list is not very useful but it is my opinion that puting hotel names up in lights will not serve anyone well.

I will respond to PM's and supply the key but only to;

Established members.
New members who can get an established member to vouch for them, Escort or Punter.
To Escorts who seem genuine.

So my hotel experience:

Cardiff Hotels

Hotel 1

My favourite for visits.

Central.
Easy to find.
Easy parking,
Public transport to hand.
Coffee shop.
Easy access.
Reception easily avoided.

Gym and Spa for guests and visitors.

Hotel 2

Bay area.
Easy to find.
Easy parking.
Public transport good.
Coffee shop.
Some minor obstacles to access, but Reception can be avoided..

Hotel 3

Centre
Easy parking.
Public transport good.
Coffee shop.
You have to walk right past Reception but I’ve never been questioned.

Hotel 4

Outside city.
Easy parking, easy road access.
Public transport not available.
Access easy for the braver but a little intimidating for the nervous as you have to walk right up to reception and turn as you reach it, but never been questioned.

Hotel 5

Central location.
Parking difficult.
Public transport good.
No coffee shop?
Access easy for the braver but a little intimidating for the nervous.

Hotel 6

Bay area.
Not a favourite in fact not on any list.
Easy parking.
Public transport limited.
Coffee shop.
Access a nightmare.

Hotel 7

Bay area.
Parking available but not always convenient.
Public transport not wonderful.
Big open reception area with open plan coffee shop, so access is pretty good if you c go for a coffee and scope out the area.  Room number AND floor is very useful, when I visited the floors and room numbers didn’t make sense.

Hotel 8

Outside the city but close to the motorway.
Parking easy.
No public transport.
Access easy but requires passing Reception.

Hotel 9

North of the city.
Parking is monitored by CCTV and tickets issued automatically unless you register the car at Reception.
Public transport – No.
Access easy but requires passing Reception.

Hotel 10

Cardiff centre
Parking limited unless you register the car and give your business at Reception.
Public transport limited.
Access is past Reception but never been questioned.

Hotel 11

City centre.
Parking limited.
Some public transport.
Access I'm unsure as when I visited I was quizzed as I went to the lifts, so I did a runner. I was told that access to the stairs and lifts was by Keycard but I never got that far.

The Key Message will offer further parking and access information, but that part has not been written yet!  :drinks:

Only just seen this list.

About a year ago I had a potential meet but chickened out because I didn't want to book a day room as they all required payment at the desk. I have done since in London which wasn't a problem but in cardiff I'm still wary.

There is not much choice on dayuse.co.uk leaving the option of more expensive full bookings.

Does anyone have any experience in booking hotels in Cardiff ( or wales) without obviously naming hotel directly.

i used the hotel near.. coughs..^^ john lewis all am going to say , during covid times there are asking for one form of id to check you live in wales. if from outside wales another form to fill in.  you can do pretty much all form filling in online and just pick up your key, had no problem bring girl back at midnight.  when i recently at said hotel... only one lift working.. there is 21 floors... not get at 8 am and forget parking at this place

I've decided to book an AirBnb apartment in town. I just can't be bothered with all of these different hotels and figuring out whether or not you'll need a keycard to use the lift. The idea of just walking to an apartment building, picking up a key from a lockbox and then leaving it there after checking out via the app/txt is so much easier than going through the rigmarole of dealing with a hotel receptionist. Plus the girl I'm seeing probably doesn't want the added attention from hotel staff.

Only ever done one hotel visit. Was instructed to turn left at reception.
What she should have said was turn left AFTER reception.  Felt a right twat when I walked straight into the swimming pool

I was thinking of an Airbnb. Thing is I don't want the over night, just the day use. I'd like somewhere which I could take decent photos.. but don't want to spend a fortune.. dont think ill get anything cheap though.. or anonymous

That was why I stated the thread and wrote the guide.

Visited a touring Spanish lady in the hotel near "J-Lewis"on the A4160 a while ago, easy from street entrance through large circular lobby into lift, really clean.  Funny thing nearing the end a very entertaining two hours, she said she'd had nothing to eat since breakfast a would love a pizza from her favorite place City rd and would I like to share. Obviously YES she rang and ordered a particular type of pizza, about 45 minutes the room phone goes saying to come down to reception as the delivery pizza guy is in the lobby. So I had to get dressed and head down for collection, fortunately he stood out from the people milling around, so paid me and walked past reception where one of the receptionists shout "That smells good"      My impression they were friendly and relaxed with everything :hi:

It tasted really good and a glass of her chilled wine, by the time I got back to the room, she had showered and now dressed in an all-in-one cosy Squirrel outfit (A very surreal moment never to forget)   :kissgirl:

One of my favourites, albeit a little dingy is one that is slightly out of town off a dual carriageway. Looks like a Butlins resort. But no reception to walk past and carpark outside. Been my easiest access ones yet. Done a few hotels in Cardiff though and I have to say all have been fine - I weirdly miss that rush of excitement nerves as I breeze in and try to find my way to the room whilst looking like I know where I'm going.

I find wearing a mask gives a sense on anonymity.... I haven’t had any issues with hotels here in Cardiff or elsewhere in the UK.

Who's going to be the first to say it......
"where's your reviews"??

Not me!!!!!

I do get bored of what I see as witch hunts of contributors and may well deter members and new members from, posting reviews or even joining!

This is a free resource  that thrives on good will and mutual information sharing.  Morally it would be wonderful if everyone gave as much as they took but it's not mandatory.

I think that there has to be a balance between the number of posts and the number of reviews, surely? This post from a member who has only posted twice......now if he had say, over 50 posts, many asking for information, that might be another matter? :unknown: :hi:

Your logic is sound but I still don't see it as a necessary equirement.

Even moreso if, as you say, 50 posts of questions.

But some posts give as much useful information as a review.

Offline johnsheppard99

The trouble with reviews and posts is, what if you've not seen anyone to review in a long time?
The last working girl I saw in Cardiff was about 2 years ago, and I believe she was a banned name to mention so couldn't leave a review. Usually most of my meets last year were when I was travelling like London, and can only remember one of those being advertised as a working girl who I did review, but met a few times and couldn't review again etc.
This year due to covid, I've only met one girl, who doesn't even advertise as a working girl so again no review.

So yeah, I like to ask for info but then I've had a few people moan at me about not many reviews, when I've simply had no-one I can review!
