Am I alone in preferring the seedier side of the great American punting desert?

The US is hardly my favourite go-to destination. Apart from a few in the educated classes, its population is soul-less, superstitious and psychologically damaged. (Freud would have condemned the whole country to a lifetime on the shrink’s couch!). Little interests them seriously beyond making money.

But I am also a money-conscious monger; not out of stinginess, but simply preferring the real grit over the sanctified superficiality. One has to go outside the main conurbations into what is often a post-apocalyptic scenario, walk like a bro, and keep any cash in the heels of your trainers.

But for all the misgivings, there are places I’d still like to see, grimy holes to poke for jewels. California was good to me in its hey-day, but that was when Times Square was full of cheap walk-ups! In between those cities, to name a few, I’ve had a great time in East Virginia, Louisiana, and Chicago Illinois. Does anyone have info on cheap n cheerful outside those places?

I don’t want to get indebted to Washington hitmen, but being streetwise in a normal hood is no problem.

Let’s face it, prostitution is a massive industry in America and it’s not all glitzy rip off. Quo vadis?

Yes that was quite a long time ago!! Times Square historically was utter filth. Walk ups is probably too posh a term. You’d climb a filthy staircase and some slapper with badly applied lipstick would leer through a section of the door in dim light. The place was littered with the prostitutes that make most street walkers look posh. The whole area was seedy and dodgy beyond belief, even by my standards. Then it got transformed. Now it’s posh. Any SWs try to negotiate discreetly as you walk out of a late night 7/11. Not many of them and not exactly offering value. (I know some U.K. p4ps that would go to NY — and probably still do — as a quick and profitable holiday, enough to cover airfares accommodation and still make a profit.) Not so good for punters.

By comparison US and in particular NYC is far more expensive to punt in than UK unless your ok with massage parlors which are still plentiful in the city.

That applied to city centres. Drive or taxi outside and there are facilities not found in the U.K., my favourite being strip joints where bj or full sex is available in the booths at standard prices with no heavy upselling. It’s not just price that distinguishes such places, they are fun! Just don’t wear your city suit and understand the area, how to ensure you are protected, your car is safe if you take one, or you have a way of getting back to your hotel if travelling by taxi. (Regular taxis will take you to these places but are often in exceeding short supply when you come out.)

To answer the OPs original question -  No you’re not alone. I love crawling out of town US strip clubs and seeing what’s up. From unusually lenient Providence in Rhode Island to black only clubs in outskirts of New Orleans, the Asians at Crazy Horse in SF and Mitchell Bros porn shows, and Chair Fort blowjobs in Texas, I love it. It’s no doubt harder now, especially since myredbook for CA got shut down, but there’s still plenty of sleaze to be had.
