This time of year 7pm would be too early for most of the girls as it's still light, but in the winter months you can often find at least one out from around 5:30pm. You basically just have to bide your time, as if there's only one girl out there's a good chance she may be off with a punter when you take a drive down there. It's worth parking up for 20 minutes or so to wait.

The girls usually stick to their own corner of one of the adjoining roads along Ambleside Drive from Honiton Road to Park Lane, although some will often venture down passed the Community College or into Chase Road and Riviera Drive by Southend East station. Just lately I've noticed girls out from just after 9pm and there will usually be at at least one or two out well into the early hours.

The Ambleside Drive and York Road areas have ALWAYS been the Southend RLD for as long as I can remember. A few years back you could also find some working the roads around the Kursaal estate and Woodgrange Drive, but nowadays that seems quite rare.

Due to the level of complaints from residents it would certainly make sense for the girls to work from one of the local industrial estates, but just put yourself in their shoes for a moment. Would you prefer to operate in an area where someone could hear your cries for help if you got attacked by some violent punter, or take your chances on a dark lonely industrial estate? I checked out G/maps. I know that road. It's one of those roads that goes nowhere, so I'm pretty sure I've never driven down there.

Actually, that's not a bad idea, FB! While I can do nothing but heartily agree with that last statement re me and Fatboy, I think Southend has sustained an RLD so long just because of it's location. The RLD has been active for as long as I can remember and while it has it's own regular local working girls, we also tend to get "out of towners" come down in the summer months to ply their trade too.
