Author Topic: Tried Sildenafil but it's not as potent as Viagra? How to get Viagra from GP?  (Read 624 times)

Hello,

I bought sildenafil from online and tried it. I found that it helps me with strong erections but not as strong as when I had viagra.

Buying sildenafil was expensive so how much can the GP subscribe Viagra? I tend to have sex at least twice a week so would like to get the largest quantity he prescribes.

Does anyone know what's the max a GP subscribes and how can I get it cheap?

I know I asked this before but I am in my late 20's and wondered if GP would give it to me. I have no health problems and would like to use it for better sex.

It's the same stuff.

Like any medication, if you don't need it, your GP won't prescribe it. You would need to have ED which is what it's for.

Obviously you'd need to discuss your requirements with the doctor but he's unlikely to give you large quantities at a time. That's what repeat prescriptions are for.

Two boxes of four at a time seems to be quite normal.

It seems your GP is likely to prescribe Sildenafil, as this is the active ingredient in Viagra, and there is no medical evidence to show that Viagra is more potent than the generic equivalent. For example -

For me viagra (trade name ) gives less side effects.
than sildenafil (drug name ) generic tablets DO.

only problem with a nhs script  the drug name (sildenafil )
is listed so it's pot luck what manufacture (ie company make )
of tablets the pharmacy prescribes to you  (lloyds  )

Used both (though admittedly occasionally).
Took them both on an empty stomach, same dosage etc.
Both had the exact same effect. If there was any difference in your experience with them it would have been down to food taken before hand or your psychological state at the time.

IMO. :)

Your doc will prescribe it but only 4 tablets a month unless he knows you (the patient) has a medical reason to prescribe more. £8.50

Lloyds online pharmacy £40 for 8 tabs. More expensive but more convenient to obtain.

Or potentially down to the quality / age of what you bought online

I've used both Viagra, and sildenafil. I have medical conditions which means I can get them on prescription free. My GP told me that the ingredients are exactly the same in both, it's just that the drugs company that make Viagra have now lost the patent, so it's now all down to competition.

Personally for whatever the reason, I am finding sildenafil better than Viagra, as I used to get really bad eye strain when taking Viagra, but not with sildenafil, and they work just as good.
I get them in blister packs of 4x 100mg, which I'm only allowed to take half each time, so I break them in half, and take it 1 hour before a punt on an empty stomach, and it really does the trick for me.

Ok thanks, perhaps the problem is I am taking them on a full stomach.

Shall I take it on an empty stomach? Or how long should I wait after eating?

I tried sildenafil and the effects were non-existent. Total waste of money. Better for me to stick with my Tibetan Herbal Supplement.

I have personally found the effects are much better on an empty stomach ALyons. Then eat after my punt. I suppose it can vary on the effects from one person to another. Always worth experimenting though.

What works for me is a gap of around two hours between any food and taking sildenafil. Drink a good glassful of water with it.

I think the effects can vary from one person to another Sonny Crockett. Personally I have always found that taking sildenafil on an empty stomach one hour before a punt works fine for me. But it may be different for other punters?  :unknown:

I've found Sildenafil works a treat to the point where I only take a third of a 100mg tab now. Ho erection issues for hours on end now.

I think that it all boils down to the fact that we're all different with regards to what works, and when to take them. I wished that I could keep it up on one third of a tab tcm
