Author Topic: Best rates on hotels in London for outcalls?  (Read 1605 times)

Offline a203203

East London being a relative desert for punting, I have often wanted to order outcalls instead of trekking west. But the hotel prices always put me off. It just seems not worth it to pay that much for an hour or two's use. I've checked day rates at the various sites as well as trawled the usual hotel booking services. The best rates seem to be about 90 quid for a decent hotel. Has anyone else found tips or tricks to get low rates at a decent places?

One vfm option is to go to Rios sauna (North London though) around £30 entrance for a couple, all day access pretty much, get a private room and lock the door!

The rooms are very basic, but perfectly usable for a punt. Depends on whether the prossie is up for that kind of venue.

Can get something decent for around 60 quid

I know what you mean but if money is the thing putting you of then this plan seems flawed imho. If £90 quid seems expensive to you then you probably shouldn't be doing outcalls as that's not bad for London. Add to that the fact that most WGs charge a hefty premium to come to you. If you're in London anyway then you're better off just making that annoying journey yourself. The money you save could potentially pay for another hours incall.

If you're determined to do it then book a Travelodge rather than a "decent hotel" way in advance and Sundays are usually cheaper in my experience but that's also usually a crap day for punting.

As Anadin has said if you are able to book rooms in advance then Travelodges in East London can be a good option. I have on night booked at the one near Excel in July that cost me £29 for the night, check in from 3pm.
City airport TL can be a bargain too. Both of these can rise in price if the Excel has an event on. I usually visit London for a concert so am always looking for a good deal. As I come in from East Anglia the East of London is perfect for me. Always look around as prices can vary even when TL are only a few miles apart. Around Tower Hill would be a perfect example. There are 4 within 15 mins walk and when booking for September last week prices varied between £35 and £129 for a weekday night.

Agree: a £60 room will look and project that you're on a very tight budget - and probably affect the mood accordingly.

It depends. I've used many a Travelodge for outcalls and I think all but the snobiest of the so called 'high class' escorts are OK with them. That type will usually insist that they only do outcalls to 5 Star or non-budget hotels so they're easily avoided, plus assuming I was wealthy I wouldn't really want to project that I'm loaded to a WG. While a Travelodge is cheap, they're usually clean, often recently refurbished, anonymous & if you're lucky reception is away from the entrance so they're almost perfect imho.
Day rate hotels are cheaper than the full rate but I've never seen one cheap enough for it to look like good value to me, but I'm tight & only really do outcalls when I get a free hotel room for work.

Book in advance or sometimes strike lucky on late deals I use External Link/Members Only

I can't gainsay much of that, especially when I similarly feel put-off by WGs whose profiles insist on 4/5 star outcall venues. (Though we know they do that to screen out those that would book a hostel or a halfway house dump, if they thought they could possibly get away with it). But then you go on to say...

  :D

Has the OP clarified what he would like to spend against preferred standards of accommodation?

Can anyone also recommend a Hotel that does not require ID? Also easy access to room without need for key or reception

Repeating myself, but there are a number of sites:

External Link/Members Only - seems to have some reasonable offers, including checkin at 6 or so
External Link/Members Only
External Link/Members Only
External Link/Members Only
External Link/Members Only

I find byhours seems to provide the most flexibility in terms of checkin times etc.

Only booked once and that fell apart with the girl crying off, but it was a 'pay on check in' and there was no charge (it was an MStay).

That's an interesting idea.  I might know someone who would be game for that.  Is there a shortage of such rooms?

It's an awful idea* and a terrible place: seedy as all heck, but in a lame, bad, Alan Partridge way - and I really like seedy places.

(no offence, Hendrix, and said with sincere respect for your many other genuinely valuable contributions - this just ain't one of them)

None taken

It's a "needs must" idea really. I've done it before as part of a longer punt, and it was a lot of fun that night (5-8 private rooms) but yes, The Savoy is more my style  :D

This is more a question of your approach, rather than naming particular hotels.

Offline Rocket Scientist

I'd recommend dayuse.com. I managed to get a couple of hours in a decent hotel standard room with ensuite above a pub off the Edgeware road  for £50.  WG cost me £200 mind!

I've split the cost of a room with an outcall WG before and she offers incall after I've left.

The second criteria would take out most, if not all, of the Premier Inns which now require a keycard to access the lifts.

I'd thought about that - but presumably she has the room on her credit card?  I mean, if the room gets trashed, the hotel will be after the card, not her.

Offline a203203

Great ideas here thanks. Have been trawling dayuse but not finding very good value.

In general I'm trying to spend well below £100 for a room.

I generally try to do outcalls outside the UK as well because basically I would need to be paying for that room anyway. I might try the Travelodge idea sometime soon. Have a couple near me. Thanks!

I don't understand the reluctance to do "trekking west". After all, isn't that what the Tube is for? And it's not as if you're a commuter who treks into work on every working day.

If a WG is worth it, then visit her. Most of the independents either do incalls or book a hotel room for the days they decide to work, which is sometimes in an area around a railway station such as Euston or Kings Cross, which was always fine by me as getting there was no problem at all.
