How Saafe could *really* benefit prossies (and punters

Saafe is mostly targetted at 'what prossies want.' They want cash, they want minimum hassle, they want respect (usually undeserved), they want to know how to get rid of punters, they want to have 'friends' on saafe. They want punters to 'like' them. They want to know how to set up business, stay within the law, how to share a flat, how to stay safe, and what there is to know about STIs and how to avoid them. All reasonable stuff to an extent.

I'm not knocking that. Saafe does a reasonable job however sickly we might find the inner lubrications of some of its posters. They've helped set up the Ugly Mugs scheme to help catch rapists which is good. But all of it is 'making do': none of it is about raising standards, which, in the long run, would be of enormous benefit to prossies. (Actors used to be in much the same category in the Middle Ages. Then it became a really respected art.) I remember one very famous Edinburgh WG saying she would ideally love to be able to have a finishing school for prossies. That is looking ahead a bit, maybe a bit too much just yet, but making a start on good technique and standards would be a start. They have a "quick start" guide on basics, and sometimes discuss technique (gagging and how to do it was one I saw), but it is all very piecemeal.

A prossie wiki could have sections on (just suggestions):

How to make the punter feel great
How to relax a nervous punter
How to do a great blow job
How to make sure the punter feels he has received great value for money
Listening to what the punter says
How to create a great atmosphere 1) your apartment
How to create a great atmosphere 2) your body language and manner

I'm sure other posters might want to add a few more suggestions. UKP is getting more and more widely read. One day, maybe there will even be a 'paid sex academy'.

Maybe punters may actually require these qualifications. Prossies who have a BSC in Paid Sex Services at Oxford University may be able to charge a larger amount opposed to a Romanian prossie who got a free course on the job centre... some prossies may be able to obtain their doctorate in the subject and compose 'journals' that other hookers can read and get the latest tips and technologies in the art of providing paid sex services.

Modules could include

0. Historical review of prostitution and how its role has evolved in a changing market
1. How to build a professional prossie profile and advanced networking
2. Conversational engineering and how to attract the client (and make him keep coming back)
3. Geography lessons on how to locate your area and giving simple instructions to clients
4. How to dress/wash and how to listen when said punter gives instructions (Romanians must have a 100% pass rate or fail)
5. Time keeping: how to delegate events to ensure you do not need to back to back punters
6. Advanced sexual services: Giving the perfect blowjob and other activities

Specialised modules could include: Building the perfect environment, advanced make up, BDSM services, how to hook punters and keep them coming back, how to deal with violent punters and strategies of disengagement, physical intervention and its role in paid sexual services, British UK Law and what you need to know.

When a prossie finds herself in her third year of the degree course attempting her dissertation, she will need to set herself up on Adultwork/create a independent site and have her first couple of clients and get reviews on UKPUNTING. Her results will show if she is to get first, second or sadly fail her course. Celebrity punters and prossies will attend this course giving insights into the world of paid sex services.

with regards to modules, how about :

Make it a sandwich degree, or whatever they're called now, year 3 is working in you discipline for  next to nothing to get experience.

There are skills to being a WG, as the posts above mention, and there is a learning period even if they are sexually experienced. However, would SAAFE please teach them how to do the bits of the job that have nothing to do with sex: comms, accurate & informative profiles, comms, following agreed requests, comms, being ready on time, comms....and comms. This is just good business practice.

Having said that, reading some of the SAAFE threads (even if only a fraction is true) makes me despair for the punting population. Both parties need to up their game.
