Let Three know you go on punting sites with your punting phone if that’s the only option

Any other helpful techie comment / advice?

Or just say you want to access online gambling sites

For adult unblocking yes, but the discussion was about their tracking ALL your browsing.

The last week or so when i've been out and about and using 3 mobile i've had continued issues with blank pages and a message saying something about "The connection has been reset", same issue for AW as UKP.
Sometimes sorts itself if you shut the page down and reload but sometimes have to switch the data off and on, once had to shut the device down before it would work
Anyone else think this issue has become far worse in the last few days  :unknown:
I'm sometimes having to turn my wifi off and on again about 6 times before it lets UKP load and sometime I have to reboot the PC too, fucking annoying

Yes I would agree that this issue has got worse lately. Sometimes have to turn my phone off and on three or four times before I can bring up UKP.  Crap.

It certainly has with Three. I keep getting the same issues and also the filter page keeps coming up. I’ve had to shutdown and restart numerous times. There’s obviously some sort of problem with three at the moment, last week the network was down and the data has been extremely patchy.

Was impossible to access UKP (and porn sites) a couple of days ago via Three.  Kept getting message "network connection has been lost" even though there was absolutely nothing wrong with my internet connection.  Happening regularly now.

I'm making this post through a Three dongle in a Mac.  Sim is a Three "Internet with Legs". These have 200MB per month free data.

This is back up for when my Talk-Talk landline goes off, which is pretty often.

200MB won't watch many videos but on text stuff like this it goes quite a long way.

Check your connection type.  I'm finding if it drops to 3G then the trouble starts.  It seems the servers handling this bandwidth aren't properly synced to the network's user authentication layer and defaulting connections to Adult Filtering On.  If I have a 4G connection I don't have the problem, if it's H+ it may be patchy.  Happens wherever the network signal is poor and my phone ends up struggling to find and relinquish the shitty backup connection layer.

I suspect this shoddy service will propagate up through the connection types as more focus is poured on their 5G upgrade and they want to drive people to upgrade to it (for stupid money).

People should en masse refuse to upgrade and let their contracts run on past term.  Buy your handsets outright and nab a SIM only rolling contract, significant savings in a year let alone the 24/36 months these shysters are peddling. Only renew if they give you same price or less for a better connection.  Sick and tired of this shakedown.

Been with 3 Network  for years, never had any many problems until a week ago. Could not access any porn full stop.
Called 3 a few times, they said to go to My3 and lift the filter...did this on mobile app and lap top. Still got the same end result...nowt porn.
Called one last time, they asked for my debit card to confirm I was 18 !! . Next day I could access no problem.

I did this a couple of years ago, my phone (which I'd bought over the course of a 2yr contract) was, and is, absolutely fine for my needs so for the last 2yrs I've been SIM-only. Enough calls, texts and data and only costing me £5/mth with a discount I'd negotiated.

Had to get a new SIM card when that ran out, but only a very small increase. Mysteriously my connection started dropping off the network intermittently, so I asked for another SIM...which did exactly the same.

A quick look on the internet revealed various conspiracy theories suggesting that I was being 'constructively dismissed' because I was a cheapskate customer (I call it thrifty  :P), so after 2 weeks of a totally shit service and no end of it in sight, I left and changed to the same type of SIM-only deal with another provider (another £1.50/mth).

The network I left was Virgin (which I'd been with virtually since they started). During the problems, several of my calls were met with 'we don't know what's happening and we're working on it'. Pretty sure it was just bullshit.

Just another version of 'in-built obsolescence' as far as I can see.

I get this issue with my phone constantly. Turning airplane mode then turning it off again seems to have the same effect as turning phone off and on again but quicker

...further to my post a few days ago. 3 network still playing up, adult filter turned off via my3 does nothing.Called 3 and they say " data centre issues ".

Fuck's sake, I've had the same problem.

Very irritating.

The block is fairly effective, which annoys me even more.

Offline Anadin

I've had to lift the block on adult website several times over the last year. I don't know what they're doing but even though I'm on contract and had contacted them many years ago to lift it, it just randomly comes back on every few weeks. If I'm lucky I can use the My3 app to lift it but often have to go on live chat. It's an absolute nuisance. That being said I'm usually so annoyed by it that I no longer feel the slight shame I used to in asking them to unblock my porn access.

I also have this problem, on several networks, for the last few years.  It never lasts for more than 24 hours just once every couple of months.  My personal conspiracy theory is that all the networks have to prove to the government that they enforce restricted access policies across the board.   Its  a tick-box exercise for which the 'proof' consists of just a few bits of computer code.  Well, thats my theory and i'm sticking to it.

It's even more suspect when your OH works for the network and can see you raising tickets for unlocking adult content and the sites you're trying to access. :dash:

I used to have a similar problem on T mobile years ago, every couple of months it would start blocking me, I would have to ring up and get them to unblock in the end I said fuck it moved to giffgaff gaff unlocked the adult content on the website and never had a problem since.

Good tip that!  Thanks.

Same issue. Putting on VPN seemed to override the adult block.
