Just wondering what effect this may have on our punting across UK?  :unknown:
I really don't like the idea myself, it's big-brother going too far into our personal lives once again.  :diablo:
Maybe it's me being too cynical, just thought it would be an interesting topic of debate  :drinks:

Are you talking about age verification changes on the 15th of July, that have been delayed?

The UK will become the first country in the world to bring in age-verification for online pornography when the measures come into force on 15 July 2019.
Just wondering how much it may affect punting :scare:
Hopefully absolutely no effect at all :drinks:

Thanks "Kev" tried but did not find that link

No problem, I’ve changed the title from the 15th June to the 15th July, so makes more sense now

Yeah, that's much clearer, and concerns a subject much discussed on here

The search box top right might help you in future.

It's still delayed again. Last I read there's no ETA on it being implemented, and even then a simple VPN would mean all those worries would be gone.

The "UK Porn Block" will probably never happen, it is like trying to contain water in the sieve.
The more worrying legislation will be if they ever implement the recommendations of the standing commitee once Brexit is out the way, that is pushing for the English and Welsh punter to be criminalised for buying sexual services, it is already law in N.Ireland.

Maybe someone more nerdy than me can correct this but as far as I can tell the block is currently on hold because Firefox use a more secure way of using the internet so the block simply does not work on it

The implemetation of this law which is now on the Statute Book but has not been inducted is delayed because the Government failed to get clearance from the EU to go ahead, currently the official delay is six months, but many are of the opinion that this law will never see the light of day mainly beause personal data may be misused by operators of the blocking software.

Unfortunately nothing would surprise me after Brexit (if it's ever sorted out) loads of uncomfortable legislation being silently slipped through parliament on the nod.
Many years ago I worked for a while in conjunction with a councillor (pertenual Labour MP candidate, thankfully not chosen) he was constantly going on about "the man in the street" were incapable of rational thought and morals.
It was up to their betters to guide them and pass laws to improve their lives. "THEIR BETTERS" meant him and others of the same ilk, pity help us as I believe not much has changed, especially here in Wales  :dash:
I certainly hope you are right " Curious CP" it will be forgotten, as there are much more important things that affect the UK & beyond
