Viagra etc tolerance

I've been using slidenafil fairly regularly for around 6 months now. I haven't noticed any tolerance myself, but was wandering if any other frequent users have?

I know it works by 2 mechanisms: vasodilation, and also by inhibiting an enzyme that 'helps' an erection subside (PDE5). By frequently inhibiting an enzyme, wouldn't the body respond by increasing it's production of that enzyme?

I've asked the pharmacist, who didn't seem sure. I can't find any research papers that conclude anything either way. Hopefully anecdotal evidence can help answer the question.

I use it occasionally when going to a punt, just to give myself a rock-hard erection. But I have no idea what you mean by 'tolerance'.

I can see where you are coming from (oops), a bit like antibiotics and bacteria resistance - the human body is so amazing that I could well see it saying (you know what I mean) "let's not tolerate this fucker any longer" (with apologies to Pfizer and the medical profession).

Ah, OK. Well I don't use it very much, but when I do, I haven't had any diminution of effectiveness. I find that it's best taken on an empty, or near empty, stomach (after a biggish meal I find that it takes a very long time to kick-in, and it's effectiveness is reduced, so I don't do that anymore. And anyway, sex on a full stomach is not that much fun for me).

I do get side effects though: mainly a headache, so I take a couple of Paracetamol at the same time, and my vision goes pink sometimes and bright whites appear rosy in colour. This passes quite quickly though.

So, so far I have had the effect I expect when I do take it.

Psychological dependence upon it is a problem for me. I don't need Viagra when fucking my regular partner - just when cheating on her with a prossie. I could have maybe gotten past that with practice but I just took Viagra and continue to do so. Not even sure that I still need it - but I won't risk my money, punting without it.
Tolerance? Not in my case. I've not found that I get lesser results with the same dose I've been taking for ages. But I'll only take it about twice a month.

Good question.

My own intake of Sildenafil is about the same as that of LL, and I'm taking 25Mg dose when needed. So I think of my intake as being relatively low and infrequent.

I think it's about 6 to 8 months that I've been taking it, but have noticed no apparent change in my ability to get erect with or without Sildenafil in that time.

I did a web search for "long-term effects of Sildenafil" and plenty of articles show up in the results.

From a quick skim through the field test results the findings seem suggest there is no evidence of participants becoming tolerant to the meds.

I don't have ED, but my first ever punt was a disaster because I was nervous, didn't know how to conduct the proceedings and consequently had a problem getting hard. The WG was fucking useless too, refusing even to suck me to an erection. In the end I managed it and came quickly and then left in embarrassment.

So since then I take a 100mg Sildenafil before every punt for two reasons:

1) Just in case I have a repeat episode (though I'm sure I wouldn't, but £100 is a lot to blue on a poor experience), and
2) I'm a one-pop a session person, but there's always the chance that with a rock-hard erection I could go again after a short rest.

The trouble is that I take nearly an hour in my pleasures to my first orgasm (I like a long sex session) and there hasn't been time to try for another. One day I'll feel flush enough to pay for 2 hours and give it a try

Its been a few years since I have taken any tablets, only thing I noticed, was after my 1 hr+ session with the escort, which was in the afternoon, I kept on getting hard erections, which at time were becoming uncomfortable, as for the ehadaches, didn't get these until a few hours later, followed by terrible wind

I learned later on while doing a clinical study in Edinburgh "inveresk research" that medication stayed in my blood stream longer than anyone else

Great thread. I just wanted to ask if anyone has any guidance on the dose to take. I don't want to go to my GP because he is a close friend but not that close I'd share my sex-life details as he knows the wife too and I don't want him or anyone at the practice knowing I want to take the drug...especially because it's only for use when punting...never get a problem with my mistress...and I never go near the wife!! A pal gave me a 100mg tablet which I have been a bit scared to use. I know that if an erection lasts 4 hours or more it's a trip to A&E!! Is the dose based on body mass index, or medical history, or some other factor? If I can't get the answer I may just get a pack of the 25mg and if one doesn't work, I'll take 2 next time...expensive way to find out though, punting rates what they are for a classy WG. On that score, I've been asked to provide verification ID for a really classy WG who works part-time...I'll post a separate question about that.

Thanks for the responses. My frequency can be anything between once per fortnight and twice a week. By the sounds of it, none of us have experienced any sort of tolerance so far, which is reassuring.

My dose 50mg 45mins before punt . i have taken 100mg before but no better for me  .
Best idear is to get 100mg pills and split them .cheaper and more doses that way .
