I looked in to this because of personal protection issues. Best I could tell the law allows you to film on your own land or in a public place, but not to go onto somebody else's private land to film. Lets face it no TV would get made if you couldn't film in public.

I also discussed it with the police and a solicitor and nobody seemed very sure on exactly what was legal. The impression I got was probably the same as running a brothel (also illegal) in that the police wouldn't really be interested unless there was something else involved in which case it might be an easier route to arrest/prosecution.

I guess I figure there would be CCTV around a brothel or maybe in reception. but in the room is way bad and ditto for a punter to film a WG without permission.

Thing is that is what it is normally about. Getting one over on the prossie.  That's why someone, starring was it?  was bragging about it as the prossie didn't know so he felt proud/smug of getting one over her.

Personally I hang the punters coat up when he comes in and put any bags he may have out of the way behind a chair I have for his clothes and always ensure his phone is either turned off or put away properly.  I am sure many others do the same too as we are well aware some try to do this

This was the primary reason I stopped punting in so-called establishments, including the Soho walk ups some time ago. And don't think for one minute that this doesn't extend to prossie's private homes too. It does. 

The justification is always on the grounds of a woman's 'security'. Be that as it may, what about the punter's security, in terms of the right to discretion? Especially with those punters who have much to lose if their little past time was made public.

I can see a time where an increased concern about this could spell the death knell to establishments who use CCTV. Especially if the laws were changed in this country and the punter was targeted by the police. Nobody in their right mind would want to be captured on CCTV in those circumstances.

I find the safest way to punt, for the most part and avoid all this crap is to book a hotel anonymously and have my fun there. And this includes her phones being put away and switched off.
