I don't want any of my real life details associated with my AW account, hence I've always bought credits anonymously. Naturally that doesn't seem to leave me with much option in terms of age verification, which is a bit of a bummer.

Imho,  when it comes to legal compliance AW will always be the first, they have a business model which has no rivals.  The only threat they have is from legislation,  they will bend over backwards to ensure they have nothing to worry about.

You could well be right. They must be seriously worried about the legislation to consider a move like this though. They'll be alienating a massive number of their users, who sign up to the site to find escorts, but nothing more. It's kinda tricky to pick a girl out if you can't see her pictures!

You will still be able to see her front page and public gallery pictures as you do now, you might notice some of the more clued up prossies have changed the main photos already to a more subtle style. It might lose them some business but not as much as being closed down. Personally I find the open crotch shots off putting and prefer the more understated style.

Yep, we've been given the option to "self-certify" that ALL our public photos comply with the AW ToS. This meant - for most - checking everything twice and moving anything that could fall foul of the rules into our Private Galleries. This probably cuts down on the amount of work AW will have to do (going over every single profile) once they take this to the next stage.

Thats odd. I have too and I am not. I last used a card to pay on there at the beginning of the year. I used one of those prepaid ones. To be fair my name on it is a disney character, and my address is a fast food place in central London. But that doesnt change the fact that I have paid by card

Were you asked for proof of age when you bought the prepaid card? Using a normal credit card that's linked to your identity automatically proves that you're over 18. If you weren't, you couldn't have got the card in the first place. Using a prepaid card doesn't prove anything, unfortunately.

Thanks for the link. Sounds like one of the stupidest ideas I ever heard. Let's stop children looking at porn by securing all the sites where you actually have to pay for content - they'll never think of looking at the thousands of entirely free sites that are all over the fucking internet.

It's up to parents to stop their children accessing material they shouldn't. Centrally imposed bullshit like this is never going to make a dent in the problem.
