The guidance for close contact services (including hairdressers, barbers, beauticians, tattooists, sports and massage therapists, dress fitters, tailors and fashion designers) includes:
  • Operating an appointment-only system.
  • The opening up of the economy following the COVID-19 outbreak is being supported by NHS Test and Trace. You should assist this service by keeping a temporary record of your clients and visitors for 21 days, in a way that is manageable for your business, and assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed.

They risk a visit from the council Covid inspectors and possible forced closure.

Businesses that don't follow the guidance can get closed down. It's already happened to pubs, shops etc.

So as was already the case we all make up a name, they make a note of it. Nothing proven, going through the motions.

Not a new thing in parlours, a lot already did it.

Were going round in circles here. Supplying details does not provide evidence that there were any extras. The problem as I said is that as you need to book an appointment by phone or email, the phone number or email address is likely to be automatically used as part of the massage parlours customer contact details record. So you need to have an email address that does not reveal your name and probably use a special punting mobile number.

Punting phone and punting email are standard procedures in this game, whether it's a rub and tug or full escort services.

As an aside council inspectors could only inspect the premises when empty to ensure the necessary equipment was present, they could not carry out an inspection in an occupied massage room so anything could be going on.

looks like a number of the northampton parlors are opening up on the 13th.

also, i'd have no problems leaving my punting phone number, hell, it's never number withheld anyway, so they always have it, as for name, fine, i'll use the one i usre at the GUM clinic, it's already linked to that punting phone number. Funny enough, i don't have a punting email, might have to think about that

It seems the Scottish Government, have done a u-turn on allowing massage places to open up, and it seems its all down to the wrong type of massage.  Only the ones that provide physiotherapy are allowed to open

It is D Day for massage parlours. Many are advertising on Gumtree that they have reopened including those that normally do extras.
External Link/Members Only

Someone please do a TOFTT to find out how extras are done in a Covid compatible massage parlour ?

WTF? Why don't you TOFTT? After all, you haven't really contributed much.  :hi:

I would TOFTT but unfortunately tied up for now. Bit of a cheek saying I havent contributed much. I have been contributing info on Malta in particular in the Europe forum quite a bit recently, and Im going out there in a few days time and will be reporting on the current massage parlour scene there.

Well as my Maths teacher used to say to me when I was a wee lad many years ago, "There's still room for improvement".  :hi:

Why do you want others to risk wasting money on a massage if you have no intention of going yourself. It will make no difference to you how services are carried out.

I think it's you who has the cheek, if you want to know go and find out for yourself.

As different parlours will have different policies and procedures this is only going to tell us what happens in the parlour reported on.

Tired of people who think they own this place. This is a place for people to share experiences and offer help when ever possible. The rules do not state that you should not be asking a question unless you have posted a review every week !! If you have something useful to say do it, if not just scroll and move on. Tired of these entitled school boy bullies.
Answering the question. Yes, you will have to wear a mask throughout the massage. Some take down contact details. Just give a fake one or you punting number. I think they will sanitise the bed between massages, at least for the next few days.

If you have contributed so much why do you only have six reviews? Or can you not count past 6 or is that your intellectual limit? Think twice before calling me a cheeky sod again.  :hi:

I didn't say anything about him posting reviews to ask a question.

It's a rather pointless question though as each establishment and each lady will be doing things their own way. Some will adhere strictly to the guidelines, some will ignore them completely and everything inbetween.

I think you will find through experience from being on this forum when someone is asking stupid questions or trolling. If you can't see that then you haven't been here long enough. :hi:

The OP's post included a request for someone else to visit a massage parlour and report back, it wasn't a question.

What evidence do you have that all massage parlours will require you to wear a mask as that is a rather rash statement to make.

Edit

May as well merge this with the other massage parlours opening thread started by the OP..

that does indeed make sense, I could see them having meant that in the first place, but, at what point do/can you discriminate against one kind of contact massage from another, without incurring legal and compensatory problems

I forgot I also reported on Benidorm as well. I have briefly also chipped into Marrakesh, Agadir and Paphos discussions but couldnt add much as I didnt see much action. I didnt find much action in Barcelona either. And I have often chipped into UK discussions and field reports by others.

At the rub n tug joint I went to at the weekend it as business as usual apart from.......

Temperature taken when entering the shop.

Hands had to be disinfected with alcohol gel.

I was asked to read a poster listing the usual symptoms of CV-19 and asked if I had any of them.

The masseuse wore a mask at all times apart from when I asked to see her face when it was removed for a 5 second flash of her smile then replaced.

I wasn't asked to wear a mask or do anything different from the norm apart from using hand gel and having the infra red temp gun treatment.

Can confirm Euphoria Thai Massage in Boscombe is open, Traditional Thai Massage in the Ashley Rd, We Care at the triangle and the other new (ish) gaff just down from St Johns Church on the Ashley Rd. All open.

Edit, no contact details asked for either but they have the mobile number used to contact them.

I visited Exeter Massage Centre today.
External Link/Members Only    Walked in without an appointment, no contact details asked for, no temperature taken. The only difference was the masseuse wore a mask throughout.
I’m down here for a few days holiday with the OH, so I will post a neutral review when I get home.

looks like most places are open(ing) now/shortly, some of them need to be careful though, because, as per External Link/Members Only under section 3, titled Businesses and venues which will remain closed they have listed...
  • Sexual entertainment venues and hostess bars

and some places are well known for only providing a massage to stay legal, and when your place is called "GFE....." then you might be sailing a bit close to the wind !

Sexual entertainment venues covers strip clubs etc. If GFE..... are open on the basis they're a "massage parlour" then their position is no different than it was before they had to close.

Sexual entertainment venues ...

If you post a negative review, can you claim it wasn't entertainment?

yup agreed, and that is what they are doing, swinging clubs on the other hand i am going to assume are still banned from re-opening.... which, given the services supplied at many "massage" parlours does raise questions  :D
