A while back I booked a hotel for a punt.  After meeting the WG, I checked out after an hour.  The guy at reception was surprised but most likely he knew what was going on.

For a punt (where I'll only be staying for an hour) should I book a hotel room as normal or have any of you had any luck giving a few quid to the room service staff or the maitre d' ?

Do you mean giving them a few quid to get access to a room without having to pay for the hotel? Feels a bit risky but you might enjoy the danger of someone else potentially coming in without warning.

Exactly.  I was thinking that there may be some rooms where they are not expecting guests because the room needs some work eg fixing a heating issue etc.  So i was thinking that giving the room service staff £20/£30 quid is better than booking a £100 room

Good luck with that!

This is quite common, and doesn’t involve trying to get someone to do something dodgy.  Search for dayuse hotels, there are a couple of websites that can give you what you are looking for. Basically you get a hotel room for a bit of the day, usually up to about 6 hours, and you can use all the hotel facilities, at a discount. Sometimes 60% cheaper, it depends on what’s available that day.

I do this sometimes to get a quick sleep and freshen up in the middle of a long day, but they are also useful as photography locations when working with models etc. As long as you are discreet no one bats an eye.

As well as Day Use app can look on Day Breaks Hotel.com. Also some of the chain hotels apps allow you to book direct - in particular Hilton Honors. With Hilton can sometimes check in via the app and get room key downloaded to your phone - then is no need to use reception desk.

Thanks for that Tony567.  This seems like a viable solution.

Bribing the staff sounds a bit dodgy to me. Unless you know someone, of course. The day rate does save some money, though. For a forthcoming meeting I am renting a dungeon for two hours; much cheaper.

You will find hotels cheaper than what's on on dayuse. Just go to google maps, go to your area and type hotels in the search. Adjust dates to what you require and icons with prices appear on the map. I have found rates significantly less than dayuse and you get to keep the room for a whole night.

Offline SpaceRaiderDave

These days I only use the Dayuse website but before that (pre 2015) I often used B&B's by calling them up and explaining my situation and getting a room for a couple of hours at a discount for a cash payment which I assume was "off the books". It isn't an approach that would work with the big chains but for a privately owned place it did. I agree that trying to bribe a staff member is much to risky to try.

Depends on the dungeon in question, not as expensive as you would think.

Just curious if they had the key card drop off box that they have in premier inn ?

Just drop off your card in the box when your ready to check out

A lot of hotels, especially in large towns and cities like London cater for bookings by the hour for business meetings or wanting to freshen up. I've paid between £20 and £60 for up to 8 hours, use of bed, bathroom and bar.  Some clubs offer almost free rooms to veterans

Do any of the bug chains accept cash payments? I'm thinking of Travelodge, Premier Inn and similar.

I booked Ibis Blackfriars last December via Dayrooms for 7 hours for £69. Paid cash.  (used it for 3hr - nice day out)

Unlikely unless you particularly WANT cockroaches in the room.

Sinnerman, you sound short of time or perhaps you are recognisable?  In my view outcall is MUCH more risky than incall: if she shits it is in your "nest" and with no comeback for her at the location (the last incaller I had left a used syringe in the bathroom bin...).

Whatever your driver is I really would not trying slipping staff a back hander; would you put your job on the line for £30?

I routinely booked hotel rooms for private meetings (selection interviews) around the world but remember to use the do not disturb sign on the door; you might explain that you will ask the "candidate" to sit a psychometric test that is timed and must not be interrupted.

FWIW, the IBIS i used to use in E14 has now stopped taking cash for payment!

Not sure if ALL IBIS are going that way....

Haven't yet tried whether ID is required vis-a-vis credit card name, but I use a prepaid Post Office travel card, so fingers crossed will be OK when I do decide to book again........

I’m pretty sure all dayuse bookings require card payment at the hotel.

Given that many hotels have CCTV in corridors, lobbies and lifts you could well get caught and after they establish you don't have any reason to be there, given over to the cops for trespass and bribery of their staff with the intent to defraud the hotel.

I've booked hotel rooms for a few hours, most don't care why but if asked I've said to freshen up after a flight and prepare for a business meeting, which often was true. Obviously some hotels will do it and others won't but ring around and ask.

A dungeon is another possibility but I've not found one cheaper than a cheap hotel room. There's one in North London that has a dungeon and a bedroom they might give you a discount if you just wanted that but no idea.

If you aren't bothered about quality some of the fleapits will do by the hour.

I've not tried it but I know a dungeon owner who rents via Airbnb, it could be worth messaging some of them. I have a load of BDSM equipment and a massage table and have rented my spare room out before.

In general unless you are causing a nuisance to others or trashing the place hotel staff don't care. I've stayed in 100s of hotels for work and only twice has anyone asked me anything, one was a tiny bnb run by a mad woman and the second was a well known smallish budget chain who had a story in the press about their hotel being used for escorting.

I have used Dayuse and Hilton site for daytime use (few hours) for years never faced any problem.

On Hilton official site...you can select same day for TO and FROM date and they allow booking for daytime use (usually 10am till 6pm) on all hotels.

Dayuse is meant for daytime use only. Select time time you want to check-in and how many hours (usually options are 3 or 6 hour use).

Check-in with confidence....many ppl use hotel day time for various reasons and it is good business for Hotels as well.
No one has ever asked me specifically about why I am in hotel. None of their business. They do ask approximate time when I will checkout(I think its a polite way to make sure I will leave on time)...just say a time closer to your end time. While checking out, I just walk out. I never do formal checkout...that way you can use hotel for 1 hour or 6 hours...no one has to know. If you have payed everything in advance and no bill to settle...you never need to go back to reception and checkout formally. I don't do it even with normal overnight bookings.

I have only used 4 or 5 star hotels. It is for my own safety, professionalism and quality of service. You can get decent hotels at reasonable price if you plan (usually close to weekends and on busy days prices go up...otherwise many options are available around 100 pound).

I'm sure in the famous hotel/apartment in Sloane sq, we can get a room pay by the hours.

One of the girls that work out there told me time to time they would sub let the room to her friends by the hour.

I have a old timer now she only does outcalls did think of getting in contact with her to see if she can sub let it to me.

Like others here I've booked hotels/rooms for day use before, but for shagging a bird from work rather than an escort. Both independent joints and chains. It's none of their business what you want the room for and in my experience they haven't cared less. If you're worried about paying on a card just get a pre-pay (e.g. Revolut) and you can keep it off the books

I'm not into bdsm and much prefer the comfort of a bed so I've never hired a dungeon but can see for those who like that stuff it is a good alternative to a hotel.

One other option which hasn't been mentioned which I've done a couple of times is to take the girl to Rios in Kentish Town. during the week it is over run by single guys buy they have lockable private rooms so are a cheaper option to a hotel. On a Saturday night its couples night so a 1:1 ratio and plenty of swapping

It isn’t necessary to drop off your hotel key to reception. I’ve taken plenty home with me or more usually leave it in the room.   There are no excess charges or hotel requirement to key drop or checkout by handing your key to a member of staff.

Jimbobted said there were 'plenty' of dungeons. On our page we list 4.  These two (Blue door and House Du Croix) plus also The Secret Dungeon in High Wycombe, and the Peacock Parlour on Caledonian road.  Two in London and two others does not sound like plenty.  Not sure the Murder Mile Studio - ok maybe 5. We welcome mention of others. See list at the end of this page:

Put "Dungeon hire London" in Google. I'm at home with the wife and kids at the mo so can't make links.
Like I say, dungeon availability ain't the issue, it's finding girls who are happy to go to one and be tied up etc.

Hilton for me too. Large, discrete and practical. Only did this once as I wanted to rest up and freshen up.  Quite funny watching an Asian student from my window pull up outside in a taxi knowing I’d be banging her shortly.
