The other reason is that Your internet provider might group users together and then UKE having had a Troll from that IP blocks it. Using one in Spain and it had that problem, Internet cafe WiFi.  So if it is happening just figure out which internet you are using. You can get round it by turning WiFi off and use 4G phone signal.

If you're using Opera browser there is a VPN built in, though I don't know how difficult it would be to accidentally activate it. If I'm remembering correctly I also had an issue with this when using Ghostery or a similar extension, though I was using that many I didn't pinpoint it.

My understanding of any of this is NIL ... might as well be speaking Swahili ... my knowledge of computers is as simple as switching the Laptop on and off    :(

I use Opera for all punting activities but I don't think VPN could be activated accidentally, you have to go - menu - settings - advanced - then scroll down a fair way to find it.   :hi:

I know if I have activated it to use P2P sites for example I get the same as S-M is if I forget to turn it off and try to sign in here.

Well here's an old proverb I made up years ago as a "Troop Sergeant" and it appears it fits you to a "T" WK.......

It's a fekin wise man who keeps his Gob Shut, and lets people "Think" he's an IDIOT.
Rather than like you WK who opens it, and "Removes All Fekin DOUBT"..................................  :P :P :P

I sometimes use a private browsing window (ctrl+shift+N), and there's a button left of the address bar. It's two button presses but still not something I think you could accidentally do though.

Hadn't tried that but as you say it's not going to happen by accident. Would be handy to know what S-M uses when he has the problem, browser etc and whether it's home internet connection, mobile (4G) or wifi hotspot.

Offline oldrockingchair

Never had that before but when I use EE Mobile to access it sometimes blocks me but majority of the time it's ok, apparently they do this periodically for some reason.

It's always at home DM using Firefox and Talk Talk.

All very strange, must be something to do with Talk Talk if it's OK one minute and not the next.   :unknown:

You might want to try Private Mode on Firefox, I'm sure that Google Chrome will have something similar too.

It works fine for me with Sky Broadband and it also has the bonus of not leaving any browsing history on your PC/laptop that prying eyes can accidentally come across if someone else does happen to access your PC once in a while.
