Needless to say, we should do all we can to help eliminate scum who force women into prostitution although I honestly think that this happens very rarely, and certainly a lot less common than many people think.
We also need to help eliminate scum who force women into prostitution arrangements they are not happy with, even though they might be willing SPs if the circumstances are right. This latter situation is more common than the former I believe.
We therefore need to make a clear distinction between coercion and pimping. By pimping I mean someone taking a cut of the SP's earnings in return for a place to work from, referral of clients, security, etc. Just like most of us prefer to work for someone rather than be self-employed, a large proportion of SPs prefer to work for someone rather than go indie. Many start working for someone and then go indie when they acquire experience, regular clients etc. If you're looking at migrant SWs, especially those with little grasp of the language of the country they go to work in, it makes complete sense for them to be more comfortable working for someone rather than be on their own.
A verification photo that is not intended to be seen by potential clients, and in which they may look a bit rough or serious, is not evidence that they are being forced to do anything they don't want to.
