We have a a lot of threads about Pattaya and though I would consolidate everything into this one thread. For all the people that have been and are well versed feel free to chip in if I have missed anything. For those of you thinking of going feel free to have a read and ask any questions here.

Acronym:

St: short time. Usually stay for a max 2 hours or one pop

LT: long time. Usually stay for longer or over night. Do confirm.

Best time to visit:

Best time to visit Pattaya is end of November until around may. This is known as high season. You will avoid the rainy season.

Don’t let that put you off going during low season but expect mix weather type specially during September and October.

How to get there:

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport is the best way to get to Pattaya from the United Kingdom.

London is served by EVA air and Thai (£600 - £900) airways directly from Heathrow and seasonal from Gatwick by British airways. There are also loads of other airlines that serve bkk via a stop over. Expected pricing below (subject to change and booking in advance):

Chinese carriers: £350 - £590
There are a lot of Chinese carriers flying to BKK and they are usually the cheapest the fly with but the layovers are often really long. If you want to save some money then this could be an option for you as it adds up in the end.

Middle Eastern and other: £480 - £900
BKK is well served by other carriers such as Etihad and Oman air but the costs are slightly more compared to Chinese carriers. I would say that the layover is much shorter.

Other carriers such as Cathay Pacific and Singapore also serve extensively but can result in a longer wait.

Other flights:

Most other airports will be served via a layover most likely with a Middle East carrier or a Chinese carrier.

Manchester and Gatwick has direct flights to Phuket these usually costs between £600-£850 with TUI. It’s pretty cheap to get a connection on to both bangkok airports (£25-£100) and the regional U- tapao airport. (£30-£130).

Getting to Pattaya from the airport:

Bus: 140- 400 baht- cheapest option. You will likely be charged for your luggage. Some charge by kg and some by pieces.

Taxi - 1000 -1500 baht - I would advise to prebook. There a few companies that specialise in Pattaya transfer. Advantage of a taxi is that they will drop you exactly at the location you’re looking to go to.

Accommodation:

I usually stay at edge which is an Airbnb on second road. I’ve found this central location great as I can get to soi 6, walking street soi buakao and beach road via baht bus (10 baht) easily but this is just my preference. The price is not too bad either.

As long as you are close to a baht bus route any location within Pattaya central is good (if you are looking to punt mostly)

What you choose to pay is up to you but I would not recommend anything less than 4 stars.


Getting around Pattaya:

Best way is via grab or bolt and baht bus. Baht bus routes vary so ask before boarding.

Note: Do not ask the driver the cost. You will be overcharged. 10 baht is the price although you are welcome to give more.

Pattaya is walkable but the road gets narrower and narrower the further you get away from beach road. Bring comfy shoes.


ThaiFriendly/tinder:

Short time - 800 - 2500 baht
Long time - 2000 - 5000 baht

This is the easiest way to punt in Thailand. I would advise you to get premium a few days before you go and only start using it a few days before or when you’re actually there.

Be picky and don’t rush at the first person that matches. Having premium  means you can message anyone you want. You must remember that you are the one with the money here so you have the buying power.

Additionally, you can straight up ask them if they are freelancers and you’ll know straight away and proceed from there. ThaiFriendly goes hand in hand with line. Girls are most likely to message you on line as they do not have ThaiFriendly premium.Send over your qr or add them via there user names.

Whilst here I paid on average 1500 baht for short time most of the time apart from 2 times. You can negotiate but I feel like the more you do the worst the experience is so I wouldn’t push it too much.

The looks of the girls vary but it all depends on what you are looking for and what you find attractive.

Tip: set a deadline for them to arrive. If they can’t make it, either move to the next one or extend the deadline.

Tip: Bring your own condom. This is more or less the expectation here. Additionally lube was also a welcome addition.

Tip: ask her for id. They age differently in that part of the world and if you’re unsure of her age please ask her for a photo of her ID during talking stage. I’ve heard horror stories so don’t chance it.


Soapy massage:

Cost - 2000 - 5000 baht

This is a type of massage where you both undress and she soaps you before sliding around on top of you. Tbh it’s not a real massage.

Normally you go to one of these places and then they bring out a bunch of girls for you to pick from (like that scene of Carter in rush hour). That’s the novelty. The looks vary depending on the place. If you don’t like the selection you can walk.

Most of these places offer ‘full service’ which may include sex or a happy ending. Confirm services before entering and have everything agreed.

Tip: it’s customary to tip the girl after not obligatory. 100 baht should suffice but you can give more




Street walkers:

You will see them everywhere but the majority is on beach road and some on second road. The palm tree princess usually come out as soon as it gets dark or around 7pm. Beach road street walkers come from all race shapes and sizes and prices vary in that aspect

Thai:
St - 700-2500 baht
Lt - 1500-4000 baht

Thai girls are the most common on beach road. There are also lots of lady boys so if this is your thing or not make sure you ask before hand. Thai girls are located all over beach road.

These girls will approach you and smile at you and generally have a good attitude

Russian (ish):

St - 2000 - 3000
Lt - 3500 - 5000

You will find Russian/ Kazakh girls close to the fountain nearer to walking street. These girls are often sitting down. These girls are usually expensive just because they are white. They are a rare commodity in that part of the world. In my opinion they are too expensive but if you have an itch to scratch then it is available.

They are mostly milf apart from a few slim ones. These girls are not engaging and will not approach you. 

African:
St - 1000 - 2000
Lt- 2000 - 3000

Black girls are usually located a little further down from the Russians. They are more engaging and similar to Thai girls. They also move and walk around a lot so same girl might not be in the same spot for long.


Tip: do make use of short time hotels with street walkers for your safety. Thailand is a safe country but don’t risk it

Tip: confirm all services before engaging in any activities. For example is full service included in the price.

Girly bar:

Soi 6:

This place is crazy. You can watch videos of it on you tube but once you’re here it’s even crazier. You will be pulled on all sorts of direction but woman. 400 meters of girls of all shapes, ages and sizes. The girls that work here are mostly Thais.

Lady drinks - 120-250 baht.
Lady drinks are drinks that are slightly more expensive drinks which you pay for a girl of your choosing. Standard practice here and it’s usually the cost for them to entertain you at the bar.

At least a few girls will approach you when you enter the bar and ask for a lady drink. You can buy or refuse. Just a heads up again you’re the one with the money so do not be afraid to say no or walk away.


Bar fines - 300-500 baht. This can vary. This is essentially the cost for the girl to leave her job to come with you. Standard practice in these places in Thailand.

St - 1200 - 2000 baht
Lt - 2000 - 5000 baht

This again varies. I would personally aim for 1500 for st. It seems to be the most accepted figure but I have seen lower. It all depends on the quality.

Optional:
Soi 6 rooms - 300-500 baht but increasing depending on how long you stay.

Do ask for id if you’re unsure of age again. I’ve read some arrests being made on some bar owners so don’t chance it. They age differently in this part of the world so always worth double checking id. They are usually more than willing to provide this.

Soi 7 and buakhao:

Soi 7 and buakhao are also notable areas to visit. These areas are much more laid back and relaxed compared to Soi 6 and cater mostly to the older crowd that are looking to just chill out and have a beer and socialise.

These places are also cheaper compared to Soi 6.

Lady drink: 100-150
Bar fine: 300-500

St: 1000 -1500
Lt: 2000-2500

I would say there’s a good mix of girls here but I noticed there are also a lot of older freelancers compared to other areas. Compared to other places in Pattaya you will find more European guys here l and sometimes bars are dedicated to a specific country but everyone is welcome.

I did not spend much time here so would appreciate and update from anyone who knows it more than me.

Gogo bar:

These are located on walking street and around LK metro. Gogo bars are expensive but the quality are often superior to other places. Prices will vary depending on the club. I’ve observed that different gogobsrs will have different clientele. For example I went to baccarat and noticed most of the people in there was Japanese but having said that I was welcomed in.

The type of girls will vary. Some will have regular girls working in here and some will supplement the regular girls with models. Prices vary on the type of girl.

Lady drink:
Model: 200-350
Dancer: 100-200

This will change according to the club. Some clubs will charge less if they are less busy and some more. Additionally, some clubs will have a minimum lady drink limit before you can bar fine the girl.

Also please double check prices as sometimes these places might slightly increase pricing on the weekend.

Barfine:
Model: 1500- 2500
Dancer: 1000 -2000

Again this can very from club to club but the hardiness are generally more expensive at these places

ST/LT:
Models:
ST - 3000
Lt - 4000-7000

Dancer:
St: 2000
LT: 3000

Prices will vary drastically depending on the quality of the girls and the bar.

Other notes:

Visit Koh Larn. It’s worth it and the ferry is not expensive. Water is clean and similar to Phuket.

Do not disrespect Thai people. If you pick a fight or get in trouble whether you are right or wrong they will side with their country man

First night:

Landed in Bangkok on 30th of November. Direct flight from London. Shock of my life when I landed as my hotel booking was cancelled. Manage to rebook at edge instead. Was lucky to get a room with a good view of the fireworks that was going on at the time.

Was chatting to the girl below a day before and arranged to meet her that night and oh boy what a treat. Agreed short time 1500 as I knew I wanted to crash and sleep after.

I would say that the info on Accommodation and Soi 7 and Soi Buakhao isn't necessarily accurate.

Accommodation
There is accommodation for all budgets in Pattaya.
A good base would be the 'Central Pattaya' area. If not in Central Pattaya in an area starting from Beach Road and ending between 2nd road and 3rd road.

Quality of accommodation can vary greatly. The poorer quality accommodation can be quite basic by Western standards. But most 3* and above hotels would be better than the equivalent in the West.

Treetown area (including Soi Buakhao and Soi 7 & Soi 8)
An area with hundreds of 'beer bars' i.e. open plan bars consisting of a bar selling alcohol and a number of girls working from the bar. Usually a sound system and a big screen TV showing sport. Sometimes with a pool table.
The majority of the girls that work at the bar can be 'bar fined'.

Daytime is usually more about chilling out, having a beer and socialising. Evening is usually more about having many beers, fun with the girls and ultimately bar fining one of the girls.

Whilst Soi 6 has more of a focus on ST, beer bars has a greater focus on LT.

I would also say avoid exchanging at the airport and wait till Pattaya. If you’re using a bank car (I recommend chase) take at least minimum 300 out as you’ll be charge for withdrawing. I found chase had a similar rate sometimes better but the charge is high considering the location

Also don’t be afraid to jump right in but obviously be sensible. It’s the best way to learn things out there. My first time out there I got burnt but you live and learn

I am looking at going to Pattaya for 3 weeks in March, and have a couple of questions if anyone can help:

1. I am thinking of staying at Hotel Baraquda and quite fancy taking the Executive Lounge option. 5pm till 8.30pm. Free flowing drinks and food for 650Bht. Has anybody done it? I am a fairly frequent traveller to Dubai and always stay in a hotel with an Executive Lounge. Quite like the idea of drinks in a nice environment without working girls, before I venture out for debauchery....

2. Not sure I am a LT sort of bloke. I like my own company in the mornings and dont think I can be arsed with having a WG in my room in the morning. If I have emptied my bag at night I probably wont want it again till the next night. Are the Beach Road girls a good option for ST? I see the bonus as avoiding the lady drinks and bar fines and all tha palava that seems to go with it, but have read they are more of a risk. How? I intend to check their ID and there will be nothing of value in my room left out to steal. I find sim cards are cheaper at 7/11, depending on availability. The least I have paid is 199 baht and the most 880 baht, depending how long you are staying. Of course it is entirely your choice if you want one earlier at the airport. Food is 70- 100 baht if you like Thai food and you can ask them for less spice if that is your requirement. I have eaten at Terminal 21 , Central Pattaya, Pattaya evening market and many more places at these prices and all good food. If you want English breakfast there are many places for 99 - 139 baht, Nickys, I Rovers, Time Inn, Cheap Charlies, Kungs, Devonshire and many more places.

At the other end of the scale I have picked up a MILF at 1am. She was a no more than a 6/10 (but she knew how to fcuk). And this is the standard that you are probably looking at on BR. There are probably YT videos of people filming the girls to give you a feel as to what quality of women work from BR. The vast majority of ladies stood on BR would be on Thai Friendly anyway.

Don't expect any of the maids to be sexy in any way. In a town full of P2P, if they were in any way attractive they would have been drawn into P2P years previously. I'm not sure how you would even bring this up as I wouldn't expect them to have a good level of English.

i agree with Billybob and would add a couple of addition comments /questions:
- have you been to Thailand before? unless you are heavily into punting and enjoy spending time with other punters and or chatting to WG's then 3 weeks in Pattaya to me seems a long time! i get bored with Pattaya after 4 or 5 days as the place is more or less just about paid for sex - in the various disguises you can get (eg TF, freelance along beach road, in massage parlours, in bars, in clubs etc etc). i get the impression that when it comes to it, you just want to get to the nitty gritty more or less asap and get on with it! so what are you going to be doing for the other 23 hours per day?
if you haven't been to Thailand before, spend time elsewhere - Bangkok is a must then either the islands or mountains. Honestly a week in pattya is enough!

i have stayed at the Classroom 3 times - you will find it quite a come down from the Hotel Baraquda (not that i have been there) - its a 3 star, sports bar hotel. the ladies vary a bit from the 3 times i have been there - the first time out of about 10-12 girls there, i fancied and bar-fined 3 of them. generally they are keen to provide a good service. the second time and last time i was there (october/november last year) whilst i enjoyed chatting to and playing board games with many of them (just a ladydrink now and again) i didn't sexually fancy any of them. i prefer younger, slim or petite and most were 30+ and curvy. because its a sports bar, you can just go in and watch a variety of sport on the screens or sit at one of the roadside tables and "mingle"  - you don't need to stay there to bar fine one of the girls to take here back to your hotel. can't remember the prices but generally good, not off the scale at all. although somewhere in the middle, its nearer budget than top end!

btw - have you checked that The Hotel Baraquda is guest friendly? being in Pattaya it probably is but is seems very business and family orientated, worth a check before booking!

There are 'baht bus' running the main routes and then there are motorbike taxis (moto's) dotted all over the place. With GRAB taxi's a possibility.

Thai bar girls generally speaking, don't enjoy walking too far - unless it is for shopping, eating or drinking. By the time that you leave the bar, they might be the worse for wear. Add into the mix if they are working in the bar they probably won't be wearing footwear which would be comfortable to walk too far and might not have brought a change of clothes.

Only when you have paid the bar fine will you find what you have got for the night. Some will be happy that they have earnt some money for the night and will get to sleep in a comfy bed with air con. Others will start to bitch about everything. How far away the hotel is, the standard of hotel, the contents of the mini-bar etc, etc.
Those that are younger and more attractive or work in more exclusive joints tend to have the greater attitude.

I always get hotels in the Central Pattaya, so not huge distances from any of the main areas or baht bus routes or moto riders. I often try to get the girl to walk back with me (although probably no more than 1/2 km), but we might stop off at another bar, get some snacks for her from a street vendor or something from a 7/11.

I don't bf the go-go quality girls (i.e. the hottest, youngest girls) so never had any bitching about hotels. I do tell them which hotel I am staying at. The reason for this - and you won't believe this - is that some Thai girls believe that some buildings are haunted!

The stunners will mostly be in the go-go bars or on Thai Friendly. The quietest place to meet girls is in your room on Thai Friendly! Gentleman's Clubs are the most relaxed establishments, although tend to have less attractive girls. You are more likely to get BJ's there than in a bar. Alternatively just walk around the main beer bar area of Treetown / Myth / Soi 7 & 8 in the evening until you find a more chilled out bar. EARLY AFTERNOON on Soi 6 might also be good place for a compromise between finding good looking girls whilst not being too noisy.

There are massage places especially Soi Honey, Soi Lengkee, and Soi Chaiyapoon that are nothing to do with massage and are totally full sex places. The only problem is you are basically going behind curtains, if you are ok with this then this is a cheap and good alternative. No barfine, no ladydrink to pay. I have been to a couple of these and the sex and bjs have been exceptional. There are many options to suit your needs, you only have to look and decide yourself.

Thanks for your advice.  I am planning to try tinder and TF both I Pattaya and Bangkok. I find that some photos are filtered and others look better in real life.  I do like the idea of seeing the girl and having a chat before discussing price etc.  Something I have never done before.  I will try all venue types, see how it goes and what works for me.

Generally speaking the system in the GO-GO BARS is that you walk up to the entrance or encouraged into the bar by the girls outside.
You walk in and someone will quickly find a seat for you and take your drinks order. Often a free girl will come see if you want that girl as company if you are willing to buy them a lady drink. Up to you if you want that girl as company. A polite decline is fine. Just don't allow yourself to be hustled when you first go into the bar.
If you see a girl that is free or a girl on the stage that you fancy, indicate to them and they will be over when they are free. If you indicate that you want them as company, it is generally expected that you buy them a drink.
If you buy them a drink, don't be surprised if they have friends that are also thirsty! Agree with this.  One solution is to get the best room in the place.  Last time I stayed at Sandy Spring, but I booked a suite.  I had a top floor space, great view of the beach, a big living room and a big bedroom.  The hotel was medium, but my room was 5*.  Almost every single girl (must have been 14 in the week  ) said 'wow' when we got into the room.

You don`t always need a sim card unless you are using the phone outdoors or on the beach, all the bars and hotels have free wi-fi so you can use your home phone.

If BJ's are your thing, there are more 'dedicated' BJ bars in BKK than Pattaya. The majority of BJ action in Pattaya takes place in 'Gentleman's Clubs'.
I would be inclined to contact the Gentleman's Club beforehand and straight ask if they are happy for wifey to watch. Honey Lounge on Soi Honey would be a good a place to start. Otherwise take a stroll up Soi 6 and go into a few bars and ask the Mamasum. You will soon find out if that is something that they are willing to accommodate and have girls that are up for it. Red Point Bar is one of the few bars on Soi 6 where the fun takes place behind closed doors, so that might be your best place to start.

Very good thread, I'm sure many will find it very useful.  Just to add on the weather/ time to visit from someone who is here most of the year:

Nov- Feb - Definitely the best time to visit weather wise.  Christmas and New Year can be very busy and much more expensive though. A lot of girls get booked up and also many go home for a week or so over New Year so there can be complaints of it being a "sausage fest" but it's really all relative. There will always be girls available.  The weather here the past 3 weeks has been the best I have ever experienced in Thailand.  Glorious sun everyday but also quite breezy and cool.  I think I've walked almost every inch of the town browsing the talent

The pics of the flooding may put some off but they are not daily events but can happen from time to time.  It all disappears as quickly as it arrived though.  A lot of the rain last year seemed to be early morning like 6-7am.  Personally I would go for the wet season over the hot season every time.  The wet season is not a reason not to visit, instead you can take advantage of some extremely low prices and the pick of the girls.  The places in town that are popular are popular all year round so there is no "ghost town" feel to the good spots.

The other big thing date wise in the Thai calendar is Songkran.  This takes on a whole version of it's own in Pattaya.  It's totally over the top.  Most regions of Thailand celebrate for 1-2 days and the water stops at dusk.  However, in Patts this year it was more like 10 days and the water didn't stop at night. It's a bit OTT and there are so many people who will never visit at that time of year again because of that.  It really isn't much fun after the first day.  You are going for dinner or to your favourite gogo and some idiot pours a bucket of water over you!  Just something to check the dates (around Mid April) and watch the videos and decided if that is for you.
