A new word for sex workers, 'survival sex' if the ladies are on Universal Benefits.

Has anyone punted with a lady who appeared to be or declared that she was on UB?

'Niki Adams, a spokeswoman for the English Collective of Prostitutes, a self-help organisation for sex workers, said there had been an increase in prostitution in the UK as a result of rising poverty and cuts to single-parent benefits'

I hope this thread is about punting and not politics.

I was forced by poverty into agreeing to a job for money. So unfair.

Haven't seen any I think are odoing it because there benifits have come down but I would think loads of girls claim and don't declare their earnings.

I'm also a strong believer that most people can find a job if they are willing to work. It's just easier to claim the dole and spread your legs for extra cash.

Offline Guesswork

No, but the more the merrier. Might bring down the silly price rises and if they're desperate up their game and provide a vfm service.

Wishful thinking, lol

True but Admin has recently been clear about no politics being discussed so any posts which turn what looks like a genuine punting topic into a political discussion can expect to be deleted as can the whole thread, from the rules -

My experiences have been quite the reverse - I heard one anecdote that involved a Centurion card, and can recount several others in the same vein.

Yes indeed. Lady told me he had 2 school age kids, father had walked out, money from benefits not enough to live on, so until father could be made to contribute escorting was her best option.

Offline shagmore

Maybe not best option, but easiest and best money.
Why bother working at a 9-5 on minimum wage, when you can open your legs and get minimum of £100 per hour (admittedly its not every single hour they work, so would work out at about £ 40-50 per hour)
They would only need one fuck per day, then rest of day doing fuck all

Saw a girl last night who said that her benefits were fucked and she had been waiting for several weeks.

Turning it on its head a bit,  saw a (terrible) wannabe porn star who had been chucked out of home by her mother because the mother no longer received £££ for her when she came of age.

The flat was a council flat that the owner only used occasionally.  Whatever that tells you about social housing it can't be good...

Her mother would receive benefits for her if she was in training or education when she ' came of age' if not she would  receive jobseekers allowance/universal credit as she should have been looking for a job, as you mention she was a wannabe porn star it would give me the impression she wasn't keen on a 9-5 and thats why the mother run outof patience, it would have affected the mothers housing benefit and council tax rebate as the daughter would be liable to pay , not as straight forward as the evil mother throwing her out, she was an adult who probably didn't want to pay her way

some sympathy for the people on universal credit who feel they have to sell sex but far too many see it as their god given right to sit for years doing nothing, they are in effect working for extra money, they chose sex where they could have chosen another cash in hand job

Oh yes, I was aware of that, BR. I wasn't thinking of that, so much as the way that down the thread, another poster makes a comment which knocks the thread at a - non-controversial but still relevant- tangent from the one the OP had in mind when he started the subject.

Not really a new term - it's been in use for decades - it's fairly easy to find articles from 1990's referring to this term.
