Author Topic: Parking at Jury's Inn, Oxford. Is there ANPR?  (Read 985 times)

Possible punt lined up at some point at Jury's Inn, Oxford.

The ANPR doesn't worry me so much, but the time limit allowed to park there before they send a brown envelope through the door.

If there is ANPR, how long are you allowed to park there? Presumably there is some method to pay without going into reception and dealing with a person?

I'll answer my own question. Should have Googled it - lol

I've only ever had 30min meets there so luckily never had an issue. Who you meeting?

It failed to happen. My run of bad luck continues. Was due to meet her late last night, but there was an incident at the hotel at the same time as I was due to see her. Place was swarming with cops looking for a bloke who had attacked his wife/girlfriend (punched her). Something like 7 police cars and a dozen coppers. They were questioning everyone. Seemed a bit OTT to me, but there might have been something else not being mentioned.
Today she's gone back to her usual stomping ground.

Does this sort of thing happen often in Oxford? I am staying there on business in a couple of weeks!! :scare:
Coming from oop North. Do I have to bring security? :)

In all seriousness, there is something about Oxford and some rough as fuck arseholes there.

I’m sure I’ll be corrected but I’m certain there was a knifepoint robbery of an escort there a couple of years back and I think it was this very Hotel. However, I also think that the piece of shit was caught.

So, merely anecdotal and “just” one incident (but one too many) but Oxford is a fucking dump and it’s not the city of dreams and spires that Morse made it out to be…

the Kitten Club was raided several years ago by blokes and stole a load of money from the girls.

The owner of the Kitten Club (Edwina Kay - she has had several different names) also had another brothel called Lucy's 30+ as well.

Edwina has more recently been caught running brothels in Devon.

And long before that in Oxford

If you are going OP, pay the £2.00, last thing you want is any sort of delay. Personnally I'd park some where else as I have an aversion to ANPRs.  You just dont know if there's an incident there and it comes back to bite you in the arse. :hi:

I agree, I'd park on a side road and walk in. These ANPR systems are not infallible, if they scan you in, but not on the way out you're going to get a letter. I've had a letter through the door for overstaying at my local supermarket. I challenged it and there was no money to pay, but that won't be of much consolation if you're caught playing away.

I was caught at an NCP car perk last year. Luckily I had paid by credit card and therefore prove they were wrong. Had I paid cash and no receipt I would have beed well pissed of. They are not infallable..
Take no chances :hi:
