My son took all of about 10 minutes to totally circumvent the parental control software - and then establish those same controls on my laptop. He took great pleasure from the challenge (as soon as I realised I was blocked, he deactivated it all). That was c. £50 down the drain. I know he watches porn, so rather than try the futile efforts of blocking it, I try and educate him about the reality and fictional side of it (for want of a better term), and the kinks that some people will do and enjoy (at an appropriate level, of course). Governments should be more focused on ensuring parents have the understanding and tools to educate and moderate their kids rather than stop them from any experiencing any possible "danger" they may come across..
Unless sites implement these verification controls for all visitors and not just the region garnered by your IP address, a quick, cheap way around it, as cultvoid said, is VPN (though I notice that UKP can identifty and block connections from common VPNs). Of course, there is the dark web, as well. And, which website based outside the UK/EU is going to block you.. I am sure most of the ones that I get onto are not in the UK.
