I thought a person could only be detained under the Mental Health Act if they were a danger to themselves or other people?

What's he done to be detained?    They surely don't think he caused the 'fire down below'?

There are also Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)  but he wouldn`t have been allowed out on his own in the first place, unless he sneaked out.

On the thread about this incident on the National Board, someone local has said the bloke in question was under the influence of drugs, which can be a ground for Sectioning if he's a danger to himself or others.

Luckily for the firemen, the drug wasn't Viagra.  I wouldn't want to be first up the ladder to rescue a naked bloke with a massive stonk on.
