So, within the space of a week I've had two SP's that I have seen recently (Bella31 and Thai Jeen) appear on my Facebook page as friend recommendations.
How the hell is this happening???
It's not really a problem for me, just a bit confused.

Are you using a burner phone?

It just shows how much you are tracked by the likes of Facebook. There is a big battle looming between Facebook and apple over apple’s new operating system which will allow you to block this tracking. I’ve even had adultwork come up as an advertiser on my Facebook. People who know about these things will probably recommend you set up a vpn for privacy.

I presume you don’t have a punting phone or you use your punting phone to access other things such as Facebook or WhatsApp. If so, that’s why.

You need to get yourself a burner phone with a separate sim and Google account. I can't believe punters who haven't done this. The benefits are limitless and it's the only way to separate both lives with no risk.
If you're using your only phone then all your activities are linked whether clandestine or not. Even the places you go.

How naive am I??
I've never had a 'burner' phone and never felt the need for one as I have nothing to hide from anyone.
This question was bourne out of curiosity rather than worry. I can clearly see why a lot of folk would though.
Appreciate the feedback though.
Thanks guys.

Everyone should have a phone that is separate to friends and family. Nowadays the data that is being stored about your movements,  places you visit,  numbers you call is a legit violation of your rights. That's one of the reasons why the Americans want to crucify Edward Snowden.

Aside from the very valid suggestions above. To answer the specific question about how is this happening -because your Facebook app on your phone has noticed you've been in the same physical location as her Facebook app on her phone.
Maybe you used Apple Maps to satnav it, or just left your phone on while you were in her place or she was at yours etc.

You can change you face book settings as well.

You are likely to have allowed Facebook to access your contacts list at some point.. this then search’s in Facebook against your contacts and recommends them as friends.

Should be an easy way in your FB settings to not sync phone contacts from your phone.

I didn’t use a Bruner phone for about 15 years and only found out about the FB connection when I received a friend request off a regular SP I saw a lot  I asked how she found me and she said she just searched my phone number on FB!

I’ve removed my number from my FB settings now so that wouldn’t happen again (and I have a burner phone now too)

And for those wondering, yes I did accept the friend request and we remain friends to this day  :D she’s sadly retired now but we were really good friends for a while  :hi:

Facebook definitely tracks you massively. I set up a Facebook for my Mom using my work phone, but using none of my details. Then in her recommended friends was my work colleagues and manager . But yes burner phone and burner sim cards are essential.

Massively is the word, especially on Android phones. Apple is more restrictive.

On Android the terms and conditions at once stage meant that Facebook could access all of your text messages, something that came to light when people were able to request the data Facebook held on them and received Gigabytes of data in return. To give an idea of scale, A gigabyte is huge, 10 times  bigger than a Brazilian  :)

How is Bella's service these days? Always found her a good fuck but haven't been for a year or so. Was her Facebook page her personal one or one promoting her services?

My punting phone is a Huawei one so there's no Google on there and use it for punting and light browsing via Opera so am not worried about being tracked.

Learned the hard way about not using a punting phone so having one is a must as you never know who will encounter. Safety first.

Yeah she's still a good punt.
The facebook account that was recommended to me is definitely her personal one.

One good tip about punting/burner phones, remember to remove the SIM when not in use. SIMS are much easier to keep hidden and if you phone gets found by the other half nothing is visible. :hi:

Offline Straightsix

I might add. Don't bother with dual sim phones, you will call with the wrong sim number!

What happened?

Used to make bookings using my personal phone.

Made a booking with an escort. The meeting was a disaster and refused to pay the full amount for such a poor service. Left a negative review on here. Through use of my first name and phone number found out where I worked and on Working Tax Credits and disability. Threatened to inform work and the DWP if the review wasn't removed. The review remained on here.

It's my fault for using my personal phone number and used a punting phone since then.
