you can still get rooms for reasonable prices (£29.50) on the outskirts of London if you book early.
Not many prostitutes can remember a booking made several months in advance.
I utterly fail to see why people want to live in London. I think they get stuck, like a drug addict, and find excuses to justify it. You only have to google "living in London, is it worth it" to find so many opinions and proofs that it isn't.
Here's one excelent quote:
If you want to try living in London but you are in a small town try this.
Put 60-70% of your money in a box each month and pretend you have given it to someone else in exchange for rent/travel/bills.
When you go to work make sure you sit/stand in your cupboard at home for 45 mins to simulate the tube. Preferably try and get as many people in there. This will also prepare you for living in a studio.
If you want to go anywhere but don't have time to sit in the cupboard have your friend drive and either pay them £50 cash (black cab) or use an IM app/google maps/paypal to pay them £10 (uber).
At the pub always pay double whatever a round normally costs. You will be very popular with the local bar staff and eventually you'll think £5.50 for Peroni is a good deal.
Don't do anything entertaining at home instead get your friends to subscribe to netflix and get them to sell tickets a month in advance that sell out rapidly. Get another friend to sell you the tickets for double the price later. When you go to your friends house pretend it is the most entertaining thing you have ever seen each time.
and
"According to figures released by the Office of National Statistics last week, London was the most expensive area in the UK for average house prices in 2013, at £428,000. This was a 4.2% increase from 2012, the largest across all regions. Meanwhile in the rental sector, a recent report in the Observer showed that private landlords have bought up half of the former council homes in some of London's poorest boroughs and private rents can cost as much as £230 a week more than council rents."

And if James is going to slag Scotland again and complain it's all paid for by the elected Westminster parliament, then why the fuck don't you come and live here James nstead of beating yourself with the misery-stick and moaning about 'handouts'??
