Afternoon  :hi:

I recently bought a paysafe voucher to top up my AW credits and got home to put them on when I got an error message.

After looking into it, it seems the person in the shop gave me a ''junior'' paysafe voucher rather than a normal voucher. The only difference between the 2 is the ''junior'' on the top of the receipt in tiny letters. You cannot use these on AW at all.

You can get in touch with paysafe to get it swapped for a proper one but need to send over ID with name address etc and for me I dont want paysafe having that info so I binned it.

So have a little look next time you get one just in case!  :drinks:

Same thing happened to me quite sometime ago on my first and only go with Paysafe and AW PGs.  I went straight back to the garage with the Junior voucher and receipt and told the bloke he'd given me the wrong thing.  After and bit of toing and froing where he could see I was getting irate, he refunded my cash as they only did Paysafe Junior there. Was only a tenner but to me was the principle of it.

I went to a more reputable outlet (decent newsagents) where they have some brains working behind the shop counter and tried again.  This time the guy asked if I wanted either Paysafe or Paysafe Junior voucher.  Got home and all worked fine.   No paper trail or ID exchanged.

Maybe you can try the same thing?

You can buy PaySafe Vouchers from any newsagent/Co-Op store/Post Office, etc. These are similar to getting a top-up for a mobile phone. You are given a slip with a 16-digit code, similar to PAYG mobile top-ups.

Yes, the problem arises if they don't know what they are and some staff in stores are not fully aware of them, so they end up calling other staff/senior management for help in processing your request.
At the store I normally buy from, these vouchers are available in £10 or £25 denominations.

As the above poster says, remain calm and explain to them that whereever the "Paypoint" sign is displayed, they are able to issue PaySafe vouchers.

This is what I posted a while back.

Although I have not been given any Junior vouchers by mistake, on numerous occassions, the (newer) staff don't tend to know how to print off these vouchers, as they are not requested that often. Remain calm and if asked what these are for, explain that you use them to pay for online shopping where the website is based abroad (e.g. Alibaba) so you are not keen on giving them your normal credit card details.

Also, if they have the Yellow Paypoint Sign displayed outside, explain to the cashier that they can find the Paysafe Vouchers screen under "emoney".

I tried a couple of newsagents and got blank looks when I asked for one, went down the road to Asda, no problem at all. Suspect they have better training, or just see more varied transactions.

Didn’t know there was a junior version, so thanks to the OP for that tip.

Offline Moresomes

Get mine at the local newsagents.
He always asks me (with a big grin) to confirm that I am over 18, and I always tell him that he's either got real vision problems, or a good sense of humour.

Thanks for the tip. I always find it hit or miss whether the counter person knows what you are asking for.

I bought one for the first time this week purely to pay it to AW in order to get 'over 18' verification. As we know, porn sites (in which category AW is included) will very shortly be inaccessible without verification.
Anyway, although AW only neede £5 paysafe, the shop I went to only does £10 ones. Is £10 a minimum sum everywhere for paysafe?

Got my last one some time ago at W H Smiths. Lots of blank, confused looks. They needed to check with another staff member but we got there eventually and all was OK. Didn't know they also have a junior version, so many thanks for the heads up.

I just tell the guy (Chinese) in my paper shop it's for a dating agency...as I'm 68 he just laughs.....he's hardly likely to tell my missus..."oo your husband buys Paysafe from here...A) she wouldn't know what a Paysafe voucher is...B) if he did I'd say it was just to pay membership of a 'blog'...and C) Lads I've read many times on here    "ah what if this and what if that"...if your going to continue Punting (me 38yrs) ..get youself a set of reasons for as many eventualities as you can, then believe them...you know as well as I do a poorly told lie is the same as admitting the truth...look the person in the eye, who's asking, and  look them in the eye and "it wasn't me" or "yes it was me but I was,,,," or whatever, but believe it...we play quite a dangerous game,in many respects with this Punting lark...so get real or stop, because you WILL get found out if you don't!
The very best one for me is...wife "what the hell are these test results for"? as she'd opened my mail and got Gum test results.straight in the eye and said " My cock was itching and sore and the quack told me to go top the clinic"...."well you never said"..."why would I? in case I'd caught it from you"!...."no love, seriously ...remember  mo when you kept getting water infections,I asked him if it could be something that I was passing on to you,so I get checked regularly in case it is..it's not a problem is it"...wife "oh right"...and off she went happy!...KNOW YOU MISSUS and BELIEVE YOUR LIES!

I tell them it’s for online poker if they ask, and that ensures I don’t get a junior one.

if you don't use the voucher in one go write the number in pen as if it is thermal paper it can fade quickly

Good tip. Or take a pic of it on your camera, then delete once voucher has been used.

Thermal paper ink fades faster if left in direct sunlight, or in your pockets as the heat from the body can distort the characters on the paper. Also if the paper is brushed along whilat you are walking etc, then the images start to fade.

This applies to any receipt that has been printed on thermal paper, a lot places now use thermal paper to print your receipts.

Well, at least this thread seems to answer satisfactorily the question posed in a previous thread about how we`re going to pay the prossies if cash disappears.

Offline dwaynepaine

Don't think many people would go to the trouble of setting up an account to cash them in or spend 10 minutes buying them in the first place

Offline nbarnes

Also a good idea to discuss this before the forthcoming UK nanny state age verification.

Will need it to prove to AdultWank that we are >18.

it might be?-------
, but what's written on the bank statement ,'paysafe' with the amount?

if prying eyes see that what's the excuse gonna be etc
maybe small amounts over time and passed off as parking fees or such like would work ?
,it would depend on the individuals circumstances on what is an plausible explanation

no cash makes the whole punting thing much more trickier and hazardous

We might end up having to pay in gold or silver bullion coins.

Presumably the same reasons and excuses as are presently made for the cash withdrawals appearing on the bank statement for your punting costs. Surely if they work for the one they should work equally well for the other.

yes quite possibly ?

at the moment cash back with a purchase  helps hide withdraws
in a cashless society no cash to give etc

it's that horrible electronic trail that will cause serious issues for punters :(

Also, if they have the Yellow Paypoint Sign displayed outside, explain to the cashier that they can find the Paysafe Vouchers screen under "emoney".

Have you tried the Co-Op.

Strictly speaking, any any outlet that shows the yellow Pay Point sign outside its place should be able to provide you with one.

Quite often, the staff are NOT aware that they can issue these vouchers, which are printed off in a very similar way to those of PAYG mobile top-ups.

If necessary, explain to the cashier that on the machinw they use to print off vouchers, they can find the Paysafe Vouchers screen under "emoney".

I used a paysafe voucher to verify age for AW, but does anyone know if these will also work to verify age for other sites once the new law goes into effect?  I hope so, as it was a quick and easy process (once I found a shop that sold them).

From what I have read, there will be something called the porn pass, which will be used to verify your ovr 18, and good luck to anyione asking for one of these, like whispering to the operator....can I get a porn pass

Ask them to look under the "pre-paid" menu option.

I bought one from WHSmith last week without any problems.

Offline PevertedThoughts

Most WH Smith sell them but not all are aware they do.

The one I popped into yesterday was adamant they did not provide them until he checked the terminal.

The receipts contain the e voucher code so best to either enter the amount straight away or take a picture of the 16 digit code.

Also worth noting Paysafecash charge a monthly fee on account balances, more information is on their website noted above.

Thanks guys, your advice and guidance is appreciated . I'll let you know how I get on.

Just notice today, while shopping in pound-land, and using the self service tills, where now you can get a paysafe voucher

Didnt try it, so dont know if one will be issued for over 18 category
