Endeavour is the name of the series of prequels to Inspector Morse. They run on ITV on Sunday nights. The 5th series of Endeavour started with the first episode on Sunday and I watched it on ITV Player / ITV Hub on my laptop with a large screen attached, yesterday evening 4 February.

I do not want this to be a spoiler but let me say just that punting becomes central to the plot, and it IS thrilling and full of suspense. I hope you enjoy it. (Some of you may have seen it already). I watched it with my wife and had to keep my responses to myself.

This is probably the best British show on TV at the moment and the only show I will watch on ITV

I have a larger monitor as a second screen for working on loads of stuff at once spreadsheets or movies or TV. Simple. Google BBC or ITV  iPlayer, and watch TV live or catchup.

Been a fan of Morse, Lewis and now, Endeavour right from the start and have read all the Morse novels several times. The episodes are well scripted, well acted and beautifully shot. I've never felt after watching an episode that  I've wasted my time. Also there's the added interest of trying to spot the late Colin Dexter's Hitchcockian appearance in most episode's of the three series. I'm glad to see they're continuing with this tradition, even though it's nearly a year since his death, but I admit I nearly missed it in last Sunday's episode. Well crafted, thought-provoking detective drama is something I think us Brits are masters at.

I agree but the point of this last episode, and this thread, is the punting story. I do not want to make this a spoiler but I would love to discuss they they tackled punting in that era, maybe the 70s?

I liked the furtive 'outing' of our former highly secretive contact magazines.

Make sure you have the correct fitting: HDMI, HDMI mini or HDMI micro for each end.

There is another aspect which is that in the previous series Thursday's daughter was a sugar babe. And fucking bareback as she got pregnant.

Or perhaps more correctly 'mistress' as I don't think the term sugar babe had been coined back then.

On a related note is it worth watching Secret Diary of a Call Girl?

Or get a Chromecast if you don't have a smart TV.

Plug it into the HDMI slot on your TV and you can play stuff from other screens (laptop, PC, mobile phone, pad etc). Most Apps support it now, as well as using the Chrome browser of course.

Handy gadget, well worth £30 from any electrical shop including Argos. Cuts out the need for cables.
