What you could do, if you only want to see certain threads or posts, is Bookmark that thread

At top of the thread, click on bookmark, and to view the bookmarks go to your profile, and third row down, view your bookmarks

I've love to be able to "follow" and "unfollow" certain threads.

At the moment, I have to comment to follow a thread and then I'm locked in for all time. A follow and unfollow button like we have on the Announcements Board would be fantastic.
