For a punt i mean.

I dont live too far out, come into london a fair bit. But for punting its always felt a bit 'small fish, shark infested pond' to me.

Ill be arriving to waterloo on.a travel card so something in zone 1 - what aw search criteria covers that area (distance and postcode).

I was thinking HOD, but a fee comments about them seem offputting. Alternatives to HOD?

If you have ever visited Amsterdam - London is a virtual version of the street windows in that you never know who is actually available until you call them on the day.  I suggest you (1) identify a long list of potential visits (10 at least) and keep an eye on the days and hours they work from several days in advance (2) call your likely available short list (at least 4) the day before to ask if they are working, (3) call at the time suggested by the girl's on the morning, (4) go with the first who answers and books, (6) text to let them know you are leaving and arrive in good time, (7) have a HoD back up. 

You won't be sure who you will get till the day but you at least stand a good chance of getting a fuck from your preferred long list. Don't rely on green lights - call then text.

Although I have recommended them I should say I never use HoD now.  There are a bunch of apologists on here but I really would take what they say with a pinch of salt. 

You *will* get screwed for time.

I am really surprised you say this.  Maybe the difference is that I punt early in the day? I would say at £100 ph the chances of reliably landing an arrangement planned in advance for a particular date and time with a girl I have not seen before are no better than evens.  Too often they are not actually working on the day?

Looking at others in the same stable, non of them are logged in = "manager" is late for work, has all their phones in her handbag and none of them will be starting on time.  This kind of shit is common and it is the reason a backup is generally required if you are not going to pay over the odds. Unfortunately my window is fixed today so I am going to have to rearrange for later in the week.

From what I understand, for this girl (and many others I suspect) the "manager" provides accomodation and *keeps the phones off shift* based on the understanding that the income from all bookings are shared (so no taking bookings off shift and off the books).  The WG's split earnings with their "manager" 50: 50 (not inc extras).  In this instance they are operating a brothel with all the legal complications.  Sw***** Street Kings Cross and many others all appear to work variations on the same model.  So if the "manager" is late on shift (and the one mentioned appears to be so frequently) all the girls in the stable will be unable to work (until they get their phones from the manager).

The other model I am aware of is one of the girls rents a flat and then sublets rooms.  This is how Chantelle works it as far as I can tell.

Finally, some girls may trade "self employed" - particularly if they can handle the volume of work required to cover the overhead of renting the flat and still make money.  Angellory tells me this is how she works and this avoids any legal complications (but most girls do not want to work that hard).   

I suspect The_Don and a few others have a much more thorough knowledge of the practice and firms working in London.  He is quite observant about the "managers" working around London - hope he adds here.
