Why would you even bother to msg a girl that has feedback from 3 ppl about being scammed.  The fact her profile name is alexaleigh then her profiile name states mia is a red flag in the first place.  Sounds like you had a lucky escape. I dont think the issue lies with you but the girls you are choosing.

second I would have phrased it
" I'd like to see you for (length) at (time) on (date). Is that OK?
What is your address?"

Short simple, just needs a yes/no answer plus the address
No need for haggling/discussion as to when she might be able to see you. No superfluous flowery crap. Remember half these girls have little in the way of English language skills so the fewer the words the better.
There's even a case for some girls, especially chinese, for cutting it back to an absolute minimum such as:
"Is 1 hour 8pm tonight OK?
Address?"

Some SPs don't do advance bookings as some people have a tendency to no show.

This SP was saying book on the day or book in advance but you need to pay a deposit to secure the advance booking. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

I'm not prepared to drive for over an hour on the off-chance that an SP might be available. I'm not in favour of paying a deposit - what if the SP cancels? Do I want an SP knowing my bank details? One reason I prefer to use AW to make initial contact is that an SP can see from my feedback that I am not a time waster.

I understand your frustration, particularly in an area with little choice.  I also prefer advance bookings, but we have to go with what the SP is offering (including their way of working).  If they want a deposit for an advance booking and you don't want to pay one (and I wouldn't) there's really only one choice - move on.

He made the appointment the same day, which as others have said is the way many SPs work.  However, he does appear to have made the appointment several hours in advance.

I get what you say about not wanting to drive an hour or so on the off-chance, but if this SP allows bookings a couple of hours in advance, surely that should enable you to make a booking before you set off?

I feel for you living in a dry area, as I suffer likewise, but limiting the field even further (by only seeing girls who allow bookings umpteen days in advance) isn't going to help.

And I agree with what others have said about woolly and unspecific messages.  They can make you look like a timewaster.  Don't forget that an SP is likely to be getting dozens of enquiries, those that can be answered quickly and easily are more likely to get a reply.  So ask specific questions, such as are you available on xx day at xx time.  Once you are face to face with an SP is the best time to ask more general questions about what hours and days she works.
