Notes:
* If you're paying by cash, we will ask you for identification when you check in. You can use any of the following as identification: current driving licence, ID card, passport, utility bill, bank statement (with address) or police warrant card.

Rates and Payment

You must be able to show photo identification such as a passport or driver's license or a valid credit or debit card if you are paying by cash for a walk-in booking at a Travelodge hotel.

Recommended practice now for hotels is to ask for id for anyone paying cash. Whether they do so is another matter, but the advice to the hotels follows on from the sex abuse scandals that have hit the papers over the last few years.

I have used hotels and always paid cash without ID.

It's actually been when I have paid with a card that they have asked for ID to marry up the two together.

As I run a hotel I know what we have been told by the authorities. There will always be some that some tow the line. Matter of time before the inspectorate test their procedures. Not worth the risk as those paying cash in the world of the card and phone payment are a very very small minority. We always take id and swipe credit card.

Why don't you want to supply I.D Anth? You're not planning on murdering a WG are you? :timeout: :D

WTF? I asked Brooke so as to just get an answer for Geordie kidda.  :scare:

I always book by credit card and brazenly go in there and give my name (as long as the WG is not around when I do) its one of the joys of being single.  :)

To also say, I have actually only yesterday booked a hotel with my full name on it. As I was emailed a 50% discount on a posh hotel (it was a 1hr flash sale before anyone asks for any links). So booked a room for the 29th February as its classed as a very lucky date and got a good deal and the 50% off made it the same price as a budget hotel. So figured it was worth a go as an attempt at a booking then.

Its just now the task of finding someone to go on it with.

Be careful who you choose Anth, you've booked the 29th Feb, she may ask you to marry her!  :rose: :angelgirl:

Reading the T&C's, the charges @ 99p are low too. Back in the day, 3% was normal for pre-paid cards. So if you loaded £300, you would have kissed goodbye to £9! Then another 3% when you spend it!

Also with Pockit, the higher limits look useful too.

Pretty sure all/most travelodges are keycarded. You could always ring up and check, say you're checking for an older relative or kids
