A combination of both I think. When I first started punting there seemed to be a lot of massage parlours in Brum and all of them had at least 4 or 5 girls who gave a good service and I would see on a regular basis. Not many massage places ( apart from the Chinese/ Thai rub and tug shops) about any more. Girls who advertise on Viva Street I avoid and Adultwork seems to be full of eastern europeans who offer a mediocre or poor service. It seems you have more choice nowdays but quantity over quality service. I think us older punters tend to look at the past in rose tinted glasses. It's the same with television.  More channel's to choose from but more crap programmes, like you davejames maybe I'm just getting old  I think nowdays I prefer a nice relaxing massage followed by a good quality hand job .

Maybe more girls  but service is lower and the prices higher . They are also less professional in the way they run bookings etc.  .  . I wouldn't ignore VS ads as from the girls point of view they are cheaper just book short visit with option to extend maybe  . Rooms are a difficult one  I have seen a few but only one have i revisited.  Her english is great and the service is v good  but i think sometimes they are very detached ..  trick is i think to have a couple of regulars  if you can find them ..

Too many shit EE ladies, that said I’d guess at least 50% of them are working against their will so you can’t blame them for not putting a shift in.

Likewise too many British woman who because they call themselves an escort rather than a prostitute are up their own arses and don’t think they need to charge a sensible rate and give a top service every time.

I have a few scenarios to tick off my bucket list and I think I will punt very infrequent thereafter.

On a side note I’ve been shagging a FB nymph off POF for the last 3 years and I’ve had more fun (free) from that site.

I've been going on about this for ages (see my posts).
100% the scene is on the decline - there's an influx of poor EE talent, the rise of Seeking Arrangement and the willingness of guys to continue to pay for poor (or limited) service.
If a brand continued to receive such poor reviews, it would have to adapt / improve or it would die away. Punting isn't like that, our dicks more than our common sense rule our decision making and the SP's are taking advantage of, dare I say, that stupidity.

There were loads of parlours full of British talent and you could really get a good variety. If my memory isn’t failing me, there were two parlours on Hagley Road, three in Selly Oak, two in Stirchley and two in the Moseley/Balsall Heath area. There were at least five parlours in the city centre too. This was without even looking at the personal columns in the Evening Mail or Daily/Sunday Sport. Now I can only think of 3 parlours; Manyana, Erotic Studios and the place with the lift whose name escapes my early onset dementia!

I rarely saw independent girls back then because my needs were well met by the parlours. Nowadays, I’ve had shitty experience with EE WG so I avoid them and tend to use TCM/FBSM places.

So what’s caused this change? I think that there are several factors; The invasion of EE WG, the attitudes of council licensing committees, the internet, NIMBY attitudes etc.

Maybe we all look back through sepia-tinted spectacles because things were always better for us back then. For me nothing will ever beat a parlour girl in a white beautician’s tunic massaging me before popping her press studs to reveal sexy lingerie. Happy days indeed.

Your experience exactly mirrors my own  .Started punting in the late 80's in the Birmingham massage parlours.  Probably the very first one I visited was Harmony on the Coventry road Sheldon. Had 5 or 6 regulars I used to see there and Lucy Palmer's in Small Heath. Plenty of good service providers at Harmony. Lucy Palmers was a bit hit or miss. The girls there did not tend to stick around too long .Nowdays I tend to stick to just rub and tug  places. I remember the women at Harmony wearing the white tunics when I first started going there so did the girls at Lucy Palmers I think we should start a petition to bring back the white tunic with press stud fastenings down the front.
I prefer nothing underneath the tunics though

This is a weird point of view but here goes...

I enjoy my crap, neutral and good punts. The good ones I high five, the neutrals I am back at school with the teacher saying WC could do better, and the bad ones make me laugh.

As long as the punt is not B&S I am okay with them. The good ones I return, the bad I wish them a dusty phone.

But at the end of the day (obviously with a wink to available funds) its all about finding the gold nugget in the dustpile.

And lets face it, no dustpile, no nugget.

Bottom line embrace the dustpile and enjoy the hobby for what it is.

Even though I'm getting on a bit I've only started my punting career in the last few years I guess when Mrs Indigo went off sex. Time to venture further out

Derby/Nottingham has a looks ok

Manchester has more choice and loads of parlours which I enjoyed when working up there

Then across/down to MK where again a bit more choice

For least travelling these will probably be my go to's
(Well not Nottingham currently)

I used the MK parlours a LOT when I worked in MK and they seriously (as we all know have some great looking girls)

Having had a couple of long-standing regulars previously also effects your thought process. Neither of them did I go with expecting it to lead to many repeat meets but now do I go and sub-consciously be looking towards finding another reg rather than just looking to enjoy the moment for what it is? And if I can't imagine it being something that I'd want to revisit then why bother?

I think as well having had a long spell where the opportunties only arose pretty rarely I went and made sure that I picked those right at the top of my fantasy list. I think again I have raised the bar for myself a bit too high?

But this is all my attitude I suppose.

I've never been a parlour kinda guy and I've always lent more towards indies, the domino effect started in 2016/17 with the exodus of wgs from the likes of emily19, elegant michelle, m.I, hannah and last but not least pola.
