As I searched escorts today for a Friday night treat, this profile at viva drew my attention.I knew it's something dodgy but thought no harm will do if I call her to speak. A girl with typical romanian acccent picked up the phone, not the middle-east I would expect, so I quickly hang up. the next thing I know is that this one-minute call cost me 4 quid !!!

I'm naive and stupid to make such mistake, hopefully you guys learn the lesson and avoid this cunt at all cost !!

Vivastreet's number is 07006228242, a little googling shows that 0700 numbers are a type of PNS (Personal Number Service) which gets redirected to the actual number. Charges vary from telecom provider to telecom provider from 15p a minute to 50p a minute apparently.

Moral of the story......  Do not phone 0700 numbers.

Maybe we should have a list of scamming mobile numbers alongside the dangerous prossies list.

50p a minute sounds right, but 4 Pounds/ minute is absolutely robbery.

Absolutely right. Numbers starting 09 cost even more and a few years ago literally overnight A/W put 09 numbers on profiles that had no displayed numbers on them. I wonder how much they made out of that scam.

Some London Agencies use or have used 070 numbers including Maxes Angels though after i had a frank exchange of views with Max Angel he offered a regular mobile number as well.

Also 0800 numbers are often chargeable from mobiles at the moment as people know. To get round this ring 03335558800 first and follow the intructions given by the automated voice which will tell you to put the 0800 number in the keypad and press the hash key. It will then dial the 0800 number but be charged as the 0333 number which is within some mobile call packages.

I contacted a prossie via Vivastreet's e-mail system a few months ago, and when she replied asking me to call so she could "get to know me", I replied saying "not at Vivsatreet's secured prices". Whereupon she gave me her own mobile number, at normal rates. After that everything went very well, and I spent a very pleasant hour with her. She's since transferred from Vivastreet to AW, by the way.

I asked vivastreet what their charge for 070 is and whether it should be put in the ad. The answer I got was 'Callers will be charged the standard rate for this type of service and the numbers of users who opted for the service will be marked as Vivaprotect number on their ad.

Yes, I know it says Vivastreet Secured Number in the ad. Shouldn't the rate charged to the caller be shown in the ad? What's the standard rate for 070s?
