Most WGs do this when you first arrive at their flat. I've never worked out what the thinking is behind it. Do any of you guys know what it is all about? I presume it is some security thing, but I cannot see the benefit of it at all???

I thought the answer was pretty obvious and as stated by a couple of posters ie. To avoid being seen by nosey neighbours, especially if she is dressed provocatively. But then there is the more cynical and paranoid view, which is to trap you!!

I honestly wonder why some guys actually punt at all. It appears they always have crap punts; fear for their wallets, privacy or their lives. In my experience, albeit relatively little compared to some on UKP, I have never felt threatened, but that's maybe because I am a bit more selective about which WGs I see. I'm never likely to meet a pimp because I stick to independents.

Personally I like the suspense when the girl opens the door. Even when I see a regular I like to be surprised when I see what she is wearing.

I think this is the most likely reason. Once you are in, and the door is closed, although you still can leave, you are less likely to do so.

Interesting thought. Whereas I've had that moment when she doesn't look exactly as I imagined, I've never walked and always ended up having a good time.if she smiles, kisses me and has a good body, facial flaws are less important to me.  For most 'genuine' WGs it's a privacy thing. On the other hand, a lot of punters are less likely to walk if the door is shut behind them.

I've noticed this as well. One WG I saw slowly opened the door after I'd knocked, then very cautiously looked out at me and beckoned for me to enter the flat. She was dressed in stockings and suspenders. At the end of the punt when she was letting me out, she opened the door, looked out into the hall to make sure no one was around then beckoned at me to leave. I assume it is to do with discretion, but an interesting, valid point which I've seen amongst the WGs that I've visited.

If she's in lingerie or the nude, then I can see the logic, also if she has never seen the guy before. I usually request the kind of outfit that is sexy but tasteful, ie the wg could happily wear it out in public. Even so, I can't think of one occasion where a wg has not played hide behind the door before I play hide the sausage later on  . I find it quite amusing, it even happens with regulars.
