I got some Viagra a while back and initially it did give me a few side effects (slight nausea, flushing sort of thing) so I ordered some Cialis. I got a bit put off by that by the Cardiac Arrest & death side effect so decided to enjoy the rest of my viagra first. Intertestingly the Viagra sides seem to have gone except one punt where my face was glowing red afterwards. Just wonder how long the cialis sides last as I really don't want to be glowing for 36 or more hours after popping one. 20MG tabs, the plan is to split them and take half.

A 20mg is fine for me. Some slight indegestion and very slight aching in the leg muscles  for a couple of days. Nothing to be botherd about. Certainly no headaches of flushing.

I'm also on 20 mg of Cialis & am happy to report that I'm like thecunninglinguist, except that I don't have any problem with indigestion. :yahoo:

Cialis gave me a runny nose when I tried it  :scare:

I had a negative reaction to Viagra. Went to see the doctor and he said best to have Levitra rather than Cialis, given the side effect around flushing (which basically is an allergic reaction).
Just depends but thought I’d share...

I use 5mg cialis, they are really designed for daily use but I just use them as and when needed and that's good enough for me. I get occassional facial flushing (usually cos I've drunk alcohol or the room is really hot) which lasts around 30min when it happens. The desired effects can last for over 24hrs, everyone will be different as they will metabolise it at different rates.

In regard to your worries of cardiac issues, all ED drugs have this as a possible side effect simply because of the mechanism by which they work. They increase blood flow by widening blood vessels. That's why it's important to discuss it with a Dr or pharmacist first in case you have any underlining heart problems. In fact Viagra was first developed as a drug to treat angina, the main side effect was to give people a stonking erection and hence Pfizer struck oil by accident!

And to Nick1974, facial flushing is due to this dilation of blood vessels in the face and is not an allergic reaction. It is possible to have an allergic reaction to a drug, but that is caused by an immune response and likely to be more severe (e.g swelling / rash)

:hi: I tried 10mg which gave me indgestion and a sort of heart ache ( I have a blood presure monitor to check I am ok before taking any) I then reduced it to maybe less than 5mg on Puntdays only when I was going for it so to speak and I take an extra 25mg of sildenafil which just gives me a fantastic boner for shggging :yahoo:

:scare:  The effct of the cials although it stays in me longer I just dont like the after effects of the heatburn and heart ache it was a bit worrying on a few occasions plus some on her lecture on not mixing stuff (funnily I read recently that 4 astmatics ...poor sods die every day in UK despite using their inhalers) so decided to go back to just the sildenafil  I dont get the knock down walls effect of the boner but its very good ;) Troble is I am a one pop and then its just sticking it in the next time pumping and no jucie  . I use the red flush excuse as I think I am alergic to the cold wind on my face and I just washed my face with some soap which has caused it tto go red ...Trouble is now my current OH knows of the pill use and enjoys it so she is right up on all side effects it gives me ...I live in Dangerous times ...Hey ho :hi: :hi:

When I've used 20mg of Cialis, I've sometimes got lower back ache for a few days after. No issues with 10mg. I've used both Cialis and Sildenafil and have never died.

You're not supposed to snort the kouros before you go on a punt KT...

I thought that 10mg was the normal prescribed dose for ED, with 5mg being prescribed as a daily dose for other conditions.
I take one 10mg dose, with no noticeable side effects. It's also not known as the 'weekender' for nothing  ;)

I doubt very much that you got an infection requiring anti-biotics due to taking an ED med. I would suspect a coincidence.

As Plan R said, our favourite mango tango man was probably snorting his Kouros or using his Garam Masala as snuff.  No way would Cialis/Tadalafil cause a sinus infection requiring anti-biotics.

The most common side affect associated with Cialis is usually heartburn/indigestion.  With Viagra it tends to be the red flushed faced and sometimes heartburn and headache to.

You should NEVER mix the two, and if cialis is giving you heartache, your right to ditch it.

:D That doesn't happen with me, any facial flushing is in the first hour or so after taking it. I usually take it 2-3 hrs before sex so any flushing has gone by then

Your right 10mg (and upto 20mg) is the normal dose. I don't have a problem getting a good erection but it can fade if there is a lull in stimulation for a while (during RO for example) so 5mg just keeps it up and ready for more action

I'm a few months younger than you, youngrob & had been on a monthly prescription of 4 x 100 mg Viagra for about 10 years with no side-effects  :yahoo: but with decreasing effectiveness. :scare:

So I discussed this with one of the GPs - a female Muslim trainee GP on placement - at the Health Centre I go to. She consulted the Formulary & discovered that - I think - 20 mg of Cialis = 200 mg of Viagra.

Since when, the WGs I see & I  benefit from the Cialis with no side-effects :yahoo: and full efficiency! :yahoo: :yahoo:

Well I'm still alive. I think some of the viagra sides at first were down to anxiety but with cialis today nothing really. I have a slight sniffle now, could be it maybe or the crap weather. The main reason for switching was those side effects mainly the first couple of times, I think cialis is supposed to have less? The other advantages (price and longer lasting) are just bonuses.

I vaguely remember the drfox pic being a nice, easy to chop tab. When I opened it it was a tiny tablet shaped like a tictac so i just bit half off.  First time is never an issue but after 1 pop I can struggle to get anything worthwhile or that lasts very much, and certainly no chance of a 2nd pop. The last punt I had with viagra was awesome actually, she went down on me about a min after I popped and I was probably hard 55 mins - best ever and  :yahoo:

Cialis seemed less dramatic. V boners are kind of odd, like really hard in the inside but the outside seems a bit looser. With cialis I wilted after the 1st go but it got hard after a brief rest and everything seemed a lot more natural. It's odd, like I trust viagra to work more but cialis was just really like being 15 years younger. I took it about 8h ago and as I got a 2nd pop haven't actually tries to see if it is still working.

Cheers for the tips too guys. I was a little apprehensive before taking it so it helped.

I found that tadalafil (Cialis) gives me less facial flushing than sildenafil (Viagra). I also find that with sildenafil I can get an erection up to 12 hours after taking it, rather than the four hours that the manufacturers quote.

I’ve experimented with them all recreationally, back in the day, but stopped and rarely use them now.

I think that is an excellent description which I would echo. I preferred tadalafil for that reason. However serious heartburn was a major side effect for me.

Both Sildenafil and Vardenafil (Levitra) gave me headaches and more nasal congestion than tadalafil but this was tolerable. However whilst I could maintain a continuous erection with them (even after ejaculating) for hours if needed, a second orgasm was impossible. Indeed the first one was very difficult compared to normal ie without any medication. Cialis was somewhere in between.

Side effects are very variable per individual and are also dose related. However the major issue with all ED medication and one which is not as widely discussed is dependency. If you have true ED related to an underlying organic cause then they can be a god send. However if you are using them recreationally (as I was) then you need to be very cautious because of psychological dependence. That is the main reason I stopped together with the afore mentioned side effects.

Required anti biotics to clear up the sinus infection.

Whilst as suggested it may be coincidence, there may also some basis to this. All ED meds cause nasal congestion to varying degrees.

If you have a long standing pre existing sinus condition then as Cialis can produce this side effect for 24 hours+ (as against 6 hours associated with Viagra) then it could theoretically tip the balance and trigger an acute flare up of your condition?

I can't function without it, and the only negative side-effect I've noticed is that I always need a bloody good shit about 3 hours after taking it (20mg). Apart from the first time I booked a punt for just that time, it's easy enough to work around.

The positive side-effect is that it's given me a staying power way beyond anything I had in my youth. Long may it continue!
