Tried seeing a supposed Japanese in Walsall once. Turned out to be chines and a male who met you and took you up to the wg. This Near the town centre not to far from The train station.

This was over a year ago but 9/10 times I’ve tried to book a Japanese it’s turned out to be Chinese. I think the Thais actually embrace their heritage and don’t tend to pretend to be something other.

I don’t think Donald trump or covid has anything to do with it. Especially considering my experience was well before covid was a thing (talking 2 years ago). Personally think it’s more to do with appeal then anything else. Given the choice I think it’s fair to say Japanese or the more favoured of the two and more likely to draw the punters in. It’s like Romanians now going under the labels of Hungarian, Spanish, Italian, and even Indian/Brazilian. Whatever brings the punters in really.
