China - Massage

Hi I'm travelling around China in May and staying in some 4 star hotels, would the massage in these hotels be legit or would extras be possible. Travelling with other people so going out to other places might not be possible. Staying in a few places but Beijing and Shanghai are 2 of them.

Most Chinese massage places - even fancy looking ones - will offer happy ending.   Full sex unlikely. 

There is a pleasant routine.  Change into robe in locker room.  Have shower.  Sometimes pool or hot tub. Retire to lounge for Chinese tea (or sometimes beer).  Then off to massage room.  If your hotel turns out not to be a great spot, there could be a massage place near by. These are big and glossy like a hotel, not like a UK Asian massage.  If you have Chinese (male) hosts, they may suggest a massage after dinner. They won't discuss services, but as good hosts they will take you to a place that has options. 

The good thing with China's terrible harsh regime and scary police is it is safe to walk down the street!

Yep - I can’t remember visiting any Hotel Spa in China and not getting the offer. Even in the fanciest places. Be prepared to haggle very hard. Do not be surprised if the therapist starts with some crazy number like 5,000 RMB for a HJ. Just be polite and tell her you will do it yourself back at the room for free. They’ll usually then come down an order of magnitude.

Obviously a massive YMMV - but here and there therapists can be curious to try a western man and want FS - so always take condoms as they are unlikely to have them.

Good luck and have fun - as OP says, the ideology is sometimes very far from ideal - the people are brilliant, kind and fun to hang out with.

Agree on seeking it’s worth the cost of subbing in and the legwork. A 38kg bisexual yoga instructor, who brought her GF along too, was the highlight for me in Beijing. She’s not on seeking currently before you all ask

I have not been to China since pre-covid, but I would check out if there is a hairdresser in the hotel. They were using the hairdressers as a front in the last hotel I visited, you picked the girl, gave my room number and time I wanted her. 
The hotel before that one had a full service massage place in the basement, you had to go out of the hotel, around the corner to enter the massage place down the steps. Only awkward thing was they wanted to see my passport.

If you're staying in any big international chain like Sheraton, Crowne Plaza, Hilton etc. then they've had a big crackdown on masseuers offering extras in their massage parlours after stings in recent years, the ladies are scared to get arrested or fired (prositution is technuically still illegal), and it's unlikely you'd get anything on a first meet. Don't push your luck as you'll find yourself ejected and reported to the hotel. Avoid any outcall agencies as they always send the women to your hotel looking like obvious prostitutes (think high heels, mini skirt, makeup to the max), plus receptionists have been warned to look out for them.
