Survival sex stories are not new, a journalist contacted me seeking such a story - my story wasn't what they were looking for. Often sources quoted are places people would seek help.

Financial pressure is a reason, I'd say a big reason amongst others to engage in sex for pay but that can take different forms.

just a political game, just like the idea they are trying to push that half the country is starving to death and visiting food banks, that is why they are all obese
they are desperate to push this also, sex work is still work so its no different than  what WGs are doing, if they can do this they can  work a normal job, difference is they might need to pay tax and they wont like that

they didnt take your story because it doesn't fit the narrative they want to sell.

these women selling there bodies for food, whats the likely hood that the majority of them also take drugs? if you budget right, even on benefits you shouldn't have to starve.

while i agree in other countries this may be the case, but i dont think its like that here. it may be true for a small percentage of women perhaps

People on benefits with iPhone Xs it's about priorities. Some people prefer smack to shelter.

In all honesty I no longer care whether Kimmy the escort pays tax or not, I do care if they claim benefits as well though and I've undoubtedly met a few brasses when I first started that did just one lived in a "scheme".

Doesn’t seem to me that there is anything wrong with people, men or women, parents or not, working to support themselves and their dependents, so why all the fuss ?

I might be putting 2 and 2 together to get 5 but driving past the job centre a couple of days ago, a gorgeous young woman steps out of a car stopped on double yellows and totters in. Immaculately dressed in figure hugging dress, high heels, the works. Certainly aroused my suspicions.

Difficult to see from their point of view, but I feel like I'd rather do that than an outdoor manual labour job. Lay on your back for an hour or lay bricks in the middle of winter?
I've no doubt it feels awful to consider doing it when your benefits drop. But male dominated manual labour jobs don't look much fun either. Is it just a matter of perspective?

Wonder what guys do to survive....?

This story just comes off the back of a story telling a whole different picture - female unemployment is the lowest in 50 years - lower than male unemployment. Maybe that is a contributing factor in WG prices going up but seems to suggest anybody who wants a job can get one - especially women.

Begging I would imagine, that or struggling because they can't sell sex. Either way it's not covered because it doesn't fit the classic victim stereotype.
(More men are homeless, commit suicide, victims of violence and in jail)

There's also the people who don't show up in those statistics, the people who are on zero-hour contracts and the people who work but can't find a job that gives enough hours. The people on 10-hour contracts in a shop, for example, aren't on here but I'm sure they're feeling the pinch too. I'm sure there'll be some case of on the clock by day, on the cock at night.

That might be a legitimate argument if the figures (3.7%) were in isolation but "lowest" - it's relative, lower than last year, the year before.  Taking that discussion any further would veer into definite OT territory so I won'tand will just reiterate my point: Less female unemployment = less women on the game = inflation

The real reason this is happening is because of mobile phones and the internet which has made selling sex extremely accessible.

Before these things were around 30yrs ago would these women have turned into street walkers to fund "living essentials" ... ofcourse not

The predisposition for women to sell sex is ALWAYS there. Ease of access determines who will put in the effort to do it. And now essentially with instant communication with anyone anywhere it doesnt get any easier to access sex work.

women are selling sex because its effortless to access, not because they have to.

Certainly that aswell as women are more peer influenced when they are younger but ease of access has historically been the major barrier.

SeekingArrangement is a great example, im pretty sure 30 years ago young female students would still have been open to the idea of fucking older men for money provided they could of made sure no-one else knew about it. This is what mobile phones and internet allows... it puts the sellers in contact with the buyers in a relatively discreet way.

A sign British working girls are on the way to becoming the new Romanians.    If you don't mind  a long post,  let me explain.

Sex work can be a good job choice for many women. Many of us will know girls that seem to genuinely love their jobs, and at least one survey has found a majority of WG's reported higher than average job satisfaction.

But that can only remain the case when the girls going into sex work are doing it out of free choice,   as it fits their sex drive & attitude. If a woman who's less suited for whoring is forced to sell her body out of extreme hunger for her self or her children, she's likely to hate the job. She might start hating punters too, or at least become traumatised, emotionally dead and totally incapable of giving a good GFE.

I don't blame folk for not believing that millions of Brits are struggling with hunger. God knows many of my fellow Lefties tell enough un-truths.     But the fact is, despite the low unemployment stats, in many parts of UK, there just aren't jobs available that pay enough for folk to live on.   And the benefits system on the whole is massively less generous than it was a decade ago, sometimes claimants even experience it as intentionally cruel. The blog  "The poor side of Life"  is a good place to read genuine stories of what's going on.

There was a 2017 survey by Unicef that found Britain now has proportionally more children suffering from hunger than Romania!
Until the 90s, Romanian  "secular" (extreme atheist) orphanages were so bad that, according to at least one study, 70% of the boys were dead or in prison by the time they were 30. And over 95% of the girls had turned to low end sex work, apparently as they were too messed up to do anything else.  A big part of the reason why they got the rep for such bad service.

Things have changed now, Romania still has problems but is much better than it was a few decades back. While UK is still far ahead of Romania on most metrics, we seem to be falling behind on a few.   Not many have a good word for Theresa May, but for a Tory she had a caring side.  If one of the free market nutters become PM and somehow manage to win the next election, this hunger problem could go to a whole new level. Might even tank the economy so much that large numbers of British lasses will cross the channel for work.

Not all will give shit service of course, just like even at the worst times for Romanians, there were always a few who were real gems.  But enough of the British girls will have been traumatised enough by the too harsh childhoods etc that they get a rep as the worst for service.

I've highlighted the last point as I don't want to get into politics, we don't have off topic anymore. I agree good and bad from all countries in terms of service. Romanians got a reputation for a reason and it was poor service as well as "I don't do that" scams, yes we know some British girls do provide a poor service as well, but look at it in terms of EEs. Why don't Polish, Lattys or Russians have the same rep? You reap what you sow.

Most escorts I've met have been intelligent young women or bored housewives. Not traumatized women with childhood abandonment issues, but I'm not their psychologist. If that is what you are saying, the last sentence of yours is poorly constructed.

I'm sure you're not a moron and know that the quickest way out of poverty is full time work.

Sorry to take this quote out of context but in the grand scheme of things sex work is not a good job choice financially for women (In developed EU countries where you can get educated to the point you can have a well paid job). I mean if you started at 18 you would have max 15 years of your youthful prime to max out your earning potential before you get burnt out or have to change the type of service you offer as you get older and some punters will not want to see you anymore as you are too old.

Add on to this the safety risks, no pension, no sick leave, no employment benefits and chance of mental and physical burnout, in all honesty it's a shit choice. If these women had any foresight they would realize long term it's not good. Quick, easy tax free cash seems to rule them all  :unknown:.  If I have missed something let me know, anyone.

It's a shit choice if you see it as easy money, spend every penny and don't plan.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is what older MILFy types can charge. If a girl starts off gorgeous and gets Greggs syndrome then probably not, but External Link/Members Only - advertises as 44 and charges £170/hour and presumably gets it often enough. Pretty much anybody over 40 who is size 12 or less seems to have pretty decent earning potential.

No pension, no bens, no sick leave - same as being self employed then. If a girl doesn't want to go that route I'm sure a few invest the colossal earnings for the first few years in an education or that old favourite property. Obviously if they earn £80k and spend £90k a year they are screwed but as an alternative to earning £18k in Tescos it seems pretty decent.

The point was start at 18, burnt out at 33. That's 15 years of reputation building and a few extra for good luck.

Arguably some of the best Yorkshire girls (Natalia, Honey, Angel Maria) are 37+ - again advertised age - and I doubt any of them will have problems getting business in 5 years if they want to. Longer - who knows,

No it isn't, consider the person who may have two, or more, jobs, the pay on both is so low they STILL can't make ends meet, no matter how hard they try. What about the person who has a full-time job, good income, good living etc., who has a bad accident tomorrow and can no longer work

You rock up for an interview in a wheelchair, the FIRST thing the prospective employer does is mentally tot up how much it will cost him to comply with the law and whether there will be a good enough return on the investment(outlay) The answer to that question is "No" because it would cost too much. You are thinking like a Tory politician, "Profit over people."

Before you spout on about unemployed people having the latest mobile phones and the best of this and that, you need to be aware that what money I do get goes on bills and food, I cannot afford the latest/newest of anything.

I mentioned priorities if someone blows a month's wages on an IPhone X rather than pay the bills they are going to get into debt. You know how the game works you start working build up a reputation and advance nobody stats at the top from day one which is what a lot of young people forget.

I never mentioned unemployed people I'm taking about people that see claiming benefits as a lifestyle choice. That isn't being unemployed it's obtaining money through deception aka theft.

It's been sidetracked but the whole point was I thought Jesse was talking bollox. I thought he was implying most escorts are traumatized. He also seems to think an overly generous benefits system is something to be proud of.

Quite a relevant post to me, having recently been given an insight from the other side of the fence.

A couple of weeks back i was working from home on the same day as my cleaner was cleaning the house; like an idiot I left the lap-top open on the dining room table displaying AW as I went to the kitchen to make a coffee. TBH I'd completely forgotten that the cleaner was in as she doesn't chat or anything, just gets on with the job quickly and efficiently - so it was a shock and a double-take moment when I walked back in to see her standing by the table, hands on hips!

As background, she is mid-30's, Polish, been in the UK for about 10-years. She never says much other than usual pleasantries as her work ethic is to get the job done ASAP then move on to the next house.

Anyhow, the look on her face clearly reflected her opinion of me "you look at that shit?" she asked. Well obvioulsy i denied it was what she thought, with some hairbrained story how a friend had spotted someone we both knew working on their so asking my opinion as to whether i thought it was her......... clearly, I wasn't believed, or if i was it was ignored as I then was subjected to a five-minute screamed monologue as to how amongst her friends in the London Polish community some had been forced to become sex workers to meet bills (usually rent), how they hated it, were exploited by "fat-pig Englishmen" (clearly she meant me), though she did go off on a tangent that many Polish men preferred to pimp than to work - anyhow, it ended with her throwing the door keys at me and storming out mid-clean (leaving me to finish it!) and I've not heard from her (or the agency despite my leaving a message) since.

Ok i know i was an idiot and incredibly unlucky that she should have taken the 5 minutes that i was out of the room to go to the dining room and to look at my lap-top (which does make me wonder what else she looked at/went through when I wasn't around)....... but it was something of a reality check that not all of the WG's are in it to fund shopping trips, or drugs etc but instead opening their legs as they can earn 10 times the hourly rate that I paid my cleaner, therefore enabling them to support their families..........

Anyone know any good cleaner agencies in West London? Mine now seems to have blacklisted me....

Offline NelsonH

I would have said "you have been reading my private computer, please leave at once".

Then I call the agency and tell them that their cleaner acted unprofessionally by reading private bank correspondence on an open lap-top.

Then I ask for a more honest cleaner to be sent.

If you don't do this she can report you for paedophilia or any other rubbish she fancies.
