Author Topic: Viagra antidote?  (Read 1894 times)

Like many punters (or rather, like many other old buggers), I like to sometimes pop a viagra to ensure I have a successful punt. Over the years I've usually managed to get the dosage about right, but I still get blocked sinuses and facial flushing. Sometimes it disappears after the 'climax' of the punt, but sometimes it lasts a good few hours afterward and is quite annoying.

Has anyone found anything that lessens the after-effects? I know grapefruit juice is supposed to be something that inhibits the action of the little blue pill, so I'm wondering if it might help 'switch-off' the effects after I no longer want them? I'll have to do a bit more research (and got to Tescos) to try that one out though.

Any other ideas?

Having grapefruit/grapefruit juice will increase the effects of viagra, not inhibit them.  :hi:

Try using generic Taladafil rather than Sildenafil
much more "natural" effect, much reduced side effects

Drink a glass of water with the pill , then another glass half hour later .I take pill one hour before the meet .This works for me , with Sildenafil and Viagra connect , no side effects as yet , though blood pressure is reduced for a few days .

Like a lot of medication. Viagra just like pricing is subjective.
It’s not a one stop for all cure or aid and similar to other medications, it has its side effects which will affect some people in different ways more than others.

I’ve had migraine, albeit not too bad. Also the sinus blockage but then again I suffer with that anyway.

I would guess the more natural herbal viagra might be the best to take to lessen side effects. But then again I doubt if it is as potent.

I read about the guy who after taking the lil blue pill, had an erection for a week.
He visited his local village pharmacy, run by two spinsters and asked what they could give him for it.
They said they had £1000 in the safe and he could have a share of the profits  :D

There’s no direct ‘antidote’ as such. It inhibits a particular type of enzyme and nothing will directly reverse that. If the nasal symptoms bother you then take a nasal decongestant spray to reopen your nose.

All drugs have a finite lifetime as they are foreign substances and broken down by the body. There are chemicals in grapefruit juice that inhibit this process and slow it down. Drinking grapefruit juice won't 'increase' the effect of Viagra, but will make the drug last longer. This can also happen with other citrus juices although it's most pronounced with grapefruit.
Have you tried other erectile dysfunction drugs? Viagra was the first, and the second-generation ones are more potent and more selective causing fewer side effects such as flushing. I use tadalafil (Cialis) while vardenafil (Levitra) is another option. I've not tried avanafil (Stendra) which some say is the best but does require relatively high doses (50-100 mg compared to 10-20 mg tadalafil).

far fewer side effects

My gp told me to take aspirin - one before, one after. Cant say i noticed any difference. But i try to avoid viagra now - seems to reduce your chances of a big finish.

Offline MrMagik

I've tried Levitra and Cialis. Levitra gave me stronger migraines and nasal congestion, but also stronger erections. Cialis had barely any side effects for me, and also lasts a lot longer. I now use generic tadalafil. Take the pills with plenty of water to reduce the side effects.

I hear Spedra has the least side effects.

Whether true or not I don't know.

Yep, grapefruit juice is warned away for many meds because it varies in how it affects absorption insanely.

And with something like viagra that also drops blood pressure too much absorption can be fatal (if not gotten to a hospital in time). If you're struggling with side effects talk to a doctor about alternatives.

If it is the condom mostly killing it, try opting for a femdom. Or ask for doctor for an alternative that might not have the same side effects.

Spedra works best for me, little to no effects at all, and fast acting.
Like all of these, I find far better results if taken on an empty stomach

Good to know. 👍

Might order some.

It is always best to talk to your GP, if even just as a hypothetical. They should know your medical history enough to point out if something might not be good for you.

Tadalfil works better than Viagra for me but it makes me a bit unsteady on my feet and aching muscles. The side effects are much more tolerable than those I get with Viagra though.

I get the same side-effect to roughly the same degree, unfortunately.

Drink a glass of water with the pill , then another glass half hour later .I take pill one hour before the meet

I do; doesn’ t seem to have much impact.

cut the pill in half

As I said, I’ve already got the dosage about right to have the correct effect, but this doesn’t prevent side-effects.

My gp told me to take aspirin - one before, one after. Cant say i noticed any difference. But i try to avoid viagra now - seems to reduce your chances of a big finish.

I tried Asprin afterwards and it dis seem to help slightly. Taking Aspirin before seems an odd idea unless it only counteracts the side-effects?

Spedra seems to be more difficult to find online at a decent price. Know any sources?

Try a Nurofen at the same time with loads of water. It certainly alleviated the Headaches l used to get.

External Link/Members Only seems to be the cheapest about. It is still expensive as it is still Patented.

Where do you get the jellies mate? UK source?

Offline mrfishyfoo

Levitra, or it's generics, is the way to go IMHO.

External Link/Members Only

I get the 20mg ones and cut them in half. No headache, no fuck all and no interference with my ability to shoot my load. A single 10mg dose lasts me for 4-6 hours. If I do a full 20mg it can last for me upto 24 hours.

If the price is unpalatable they can be bought from abroad for about £25 for a strip of 20 pills.

Not a UK source, shipped from India, took bloody ages to the point I thought I’d been swindled.
