I've always thought that Men's physical health has also been largely ignored, while it is improving take for instance prostate cancer which is the biggest cause of cancer in men where 1 in 8 men will actually get it at some point in their life but it never used to even get a mention.
Compare that to breast cancer which has continually been top of the agenda for as long as I can remember, i'm not saying that breast cancer isn't important as it clearly is and i'm glad serious effort has been made to tackle it but can you imagine if prostate cancer has been tackled in the same way while breast cancer wasn't hardly mentioned
This.
Every man over 50 should be offered an annual prostate exam at his GP surgery. The sad fact is that women make much more of a noise about what pisses them off, than men do. I think a few on here may agree with that
The latest pile of crap is that women must feel free to tell everyone about their 'menstrual issues'
. You can say what you like dear, but I may not be listening.
Period poverty. Really?
What about older guys wetting themselves because their prostate is the size of a tennis ball? Am I going to get Y-Fronts on the NHS? Not interested? Nah, didn't think you would be
.
By the way, despite my cynicism, Blackpool, I totally agree women should have effective and freely-available screening for breast cancer. But my cynicism is borne of the fact that men are being left behind and ignored,
in all kinds of ways.As a man, feeling like you're been left out and yes, unloved, is doing no good whatsoever for the high suicide rate in men.
So
