Recently bought a small battery operated tens machine for general pain relief.

Has anybody tried them to improve erectile dysfunction?

Before you all jump in telling me to see a doctor, I've already asked my GP Dr Eileen Ramsbottom and the only advice she offered is to see her in private practice, where apparently she's been having some success with jump leads and manipulation therapy.

So.....any advice, any experience, any success, positioning pads etc etc.

I think the treatment is based more on stimulating your wallet than any medical benefit. I got into e-stim during lockdown boredom and have had no benefits other than excellent orgasms. I’ve tried prostate and penis sounds and stuck pads all over the place, allegedly helps as you say with exercising pelvic floor muscles but it’s not had any noticeable effect that I can feel.

Sounds like your GP is offering some manual stimulation in her private practice, why not give it a go? And who knows, if a 'helping hand' doesn't quite do it, she might be up for some oral advice  .

I've tried that.

Unfortunately my contract only allows for a maximum of 3 callouts per year, and in any case the bloke reckons my big end's gone.

Mine arrived yesterday, albeit with probe only and no pads per checklist content so I've logged a ticket.
