I think this is the most truthful assessment, of course truth is subjective and I'm sure some of the muthas on mumsnet would disagree. I think some are young, dumb and full of cum and think having a pramrat is a way of contributing to society: "at least I'm doing something with my life", "being a mother is the hardest job in the world" and my favourite "I have to take care of my kids, I don't have time to work" - it's all bollocks. Considering parenting is a lifestyle not a profession it's like saying if someone goes to a caff they become a professional food taster.
People in relationships are protective and don't realise that human desire i.e. lust is greater than the desire to nurture, lust is second only to hunger\thirst in the urges stakes or should that be steaks. Of course, a ring on the finger can be a band of contempt. More pop-psychology\sociology next time.
I too agree with your assessment. Of course, a great deal of this is supposition and guess work. One cannot talk in absolutes but I'm basing some of my thoughts on personal observations, conversations I've overhead or tuned into in cafés or my gym and actually knowing a couple of these poor guys! Non punters, or so I think!
I'll admit that it takes a degree of cynicism to say some of this but where it stands out for me most, is when I see a woman in an area where the property is £500k, talking like she'd just had pie and mash in the East End! Let's face it, in most cases there's no way she could earn that kind of dosh and then I see many of these guys, who appear to come from a totally different income bracket and background. I often wonder how these type of people meet up and I do suspect that it's to have a trophy wife and a younger woman to breed. His pay off tends to be a good looking woman who takes care of herself. Her payoff is financial security for life because once she has the ring on her finger and especially kids, then she's well set. I think some women try less once they've achieve their primary goal and start playing mind games or simply lose interest in the guy sex wise. They become complacent because they then feel 'safe'. And yes, perhaps the guy lets himself go too. The man becomes frustrated regardless. Men's natural instinct is to spread their seed anyway, so it's little wonder that a great many will have a roving eye. Sure, they keep up the pretence at social gatherings and such like, but I know a great many married colleagues of mine who aren't very happy!
