I'm relatively new to this, so can someone please confirm - it's entirely up to the 'service provider' to confirm if a booking took place, so if they messed a punter about or gave a shit time, all they need to do is refuse to confirm the booking took place to avoid negative feedback?
Also, it would appear that a woman can leave negative feedback for a punter WITHOUT confirming the booking took place, thus preventing any right of reply?
To tell my tale of woe: I booked a woman today, drove 50 miles over there. Parked in exactly the spot they said, called up as requested. Can't get through on my cheap punting phone - they are clearly in area with shit/non-existant signal coverage. I think 'well, I'm here now, fuck it', pick up my normal phone, call up. Straight to voicemail - possible that her the shit coverage affects her signal also? Anyway, I leave a voice mail, explain the situation, I'm there, tell me where to go etc. - I was admittedly 10 minutes late but offered to pay the full hour and leave after 50 mins, jesus I can't really do much more than that. I also drop her a text. Half an hour later and two calls to her later, I give up and leave.
When I get home, yes, there IS a voicemail on my cheap punting phone from her asking where I am - it's possible we were trying to call each other in this signal black spot at exactly the same time. At this point I have a) not had a punt and b) forked out 100 miles of petrol and 2 hours of driving for nothing. I politely respond to state I was there, I tried to contact her, looks like there were phone issues, I had nothing to apologise for as I've lost out but was very conciliatory.
An hour later I have my first negative feedback on AW, from her saying I never turned up or called, and of course my only 'right of reply' is disputing it on my own feedback profile. I genuinely think, considering all of her good feedback on AW and my 100% record, that this was just a case of two people trying to call each other in a signal black spot and neither getting through - but how is this my fault? I'm the one that drove down there and I doubt this is the first time this must've happened, if she knows she is in a poor phone area shouldn't she have some alternative ways of notifying punters how to find her?
What the fuck.
